Acquisition 16613
Gents,
Looking at a purchase from Takuya! It’s a 16613. Possible replacement of dial and hands. Really unsure. Curious if it’s been overpolished. Your thoughts and expertise on all aspects are much appreciated. Dial doesn’t look overly purple. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=580492 |

Thanh is a great guy, and the watch is not collectible anyway. Service dial/hands would not be an issue to me. 16613 is a great watch...

Watch looks great. Dial and hands look original to that era 1996. Buy it!
BTW, I wouldn't replace the dial and hands if that is what you meant! If all is in great shape which it is, leave it alone and enjoy the timepiece. |

Great seller, great looking watch. I'd pull the trigger if this one speaks to you.

I’m no expert — but the dial and hands look right to me for that era - (96)
This pic is an earlier S series I wore quite a bit - all original —- and the dial and hands from that timeline (93/94). Very similar - the dial has more of the purple hue to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Too late! Just made that deal!
JK. He is one I wouldn’t be worried about misrepresentation.

As been stated multiple times by many members the watch looks fine. Any other pertinent questions should be directed toward the seller. Don't know what else to say?

i love the patina of the older 5 digit subs, and the 16613 is one of the best!

Again, only my opinion based on my experiences - with the dial being original I think it is fairly unlikely that the hands would not be. Patina looks perfect and I can’t (personally) see any color fluctuation.
Thanh always has some beautiful specimens of 5 digit references - and it is a full set! Go for it!! Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks like an original Tritium dial to me. Hands match perfectly in the pics. Actually somewhat hard to find T<25 dials anymore. That is a nice example.

The bezel will most definitely fade a little over time changing some of the hues for sure - just as the shade of blue on older 5 digit two tone subs tends to go towards purple-ish. Lots of different factors in the 5 digit references. All part of the ‘aging’ process!! Changes will happen after 20+ years! Makes these references special!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
