Anyone else develop a crack on their Sub C pip?
So about 6 weeks into ownership of my first new ad purchased sub c, I noticed that the pip (bezel lume dot) has a crack?!?! This watch isn’t babied but I do work in an office and so it’s not seen any abuse at all. Sent to RSC Dallas this week so I’ll report back with findings. I wouldn’t have sent it but was sending another watch for service anyway so decided to see what happens.
Anyone else had this happen???

It’s been reported to happen now and then. Fortunately RSC can now repair it vs previously having to replace the entire insert.

Mine fell out several years ago. Replaced free and fast (<2weeks) by RSC Dallas. No problems since and I beat the heck out of it.

I have always had a great expirence at Dallas, I try and work with Vivian. She’s fantastic, and sometimes I’ll call just to check in on the watch and she’ll tell me exactly where it in process. She even said that if I ever have an issue when I receive a watch back just call her and it WILL be taken care of.
Anyway I still have a lady’s DJ there getting a full treatment, but glad to have my Sub C back!

Glad to hear they’re taking care of it
I’ve been beating the crap out of my 16610for seven plus years now and haven’t broken it yet. A few times I’ve smashed into things and thought for sure I cracked it or the bezel/crystal, lucky so far. Knock on wood

Congrats! Fixed for free and it only took a few weeks. Now THAT'S what i call service... and why Rolex has a great reputation.

Just curious but does anyone know how they actually replace the lume dot? Do they take off the bezel and screw it on/off? Thanks!

That’s good if they can replace the lume pip, I dented mine after a few weeks and was told it would be the whole insert and better off waiting until it’s first service, the whole insert puts a much higher price on service.

I believe it's held in place by a rivet.

Can they replace the dot on a 16610 without replacing insert?
