New watch dead on arrival

So I just took delivery of a pre owned GMT Master II from a listing on TRF and for the life of me I can not get it to run. I have wound it 40 clicks, worn it while walking for nearly an hour, nothing has gotten it started. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I don't want to pay another few hundred for a service - the cost difference would be minimal between that and a new GMT. Is there something else that may be causing it to not run? Thanks.

Shouldn’t you be asking the seller these questions ?

Sometimes just winding it doesn't get it started. Try moving the watch around to start the self winding, or wear it a little bit and see if it starts.

Yes....if the watch is wound and not running. Give it a good tap with your fingers on the caseback or side of the case and see if it kick starts it. A lot of movements get like this when it hasn't ran in awhile. Otherwise, time to contact the seller for a return.

To be fair, if it hadn’t ran for a while, surely the seller would have tested/inspected the watch before shipping it??

If you have gone through the steps/advice posted here and it is still not running, time to contact the seller.

Silly question, but you pushed the crown back in?

Seller should make it right if it is a respected TRF member.

I’d suggest resetting the GMT hand and also pulling the stem all the way out and moving the hands through a couple day cycle. After that, I got nothing...if it still doesn’t work, contact the seller or bite the bull it and get it serviced.

Curious to see how this goes. Hopefully it's something easily fixable but if what others have suggested doesn't work contact the seller if you haven't already.

I would think all sellers should make that right.

With that being said please get pictures up (as requested from other posts) and keep all posted on what happens.
