Rolex GMT Master ll
Hi
I went to the Rolex Store today to choose between the Submariner date and GMT master ll. The seller told me that most people buy the Sub vs the GMT and the the sub is a better investment Over the GMT in the long run! Is this true? By the way the GMT looked bigger on my wrist and I don't know why? |

Get what you want and don’t worry about what someone thinks will be a better investment. That being said I have both the BLNR and SubC. BLNR gets way more wrist time... SubC actually is probably one of my least worn watches in the past 6-7 months.

I chose the GMTiiC over the sub as I use the GMT function a lot for work. Both are great watches, buy what you like.

SubC date as a Better investment? Probably not. More liquid? Possibly.

In the end, to most people they look exactly the same, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference at first glance. Saying that, go with what you like. Down the line if you wished to sell either i don’t think you’d have a problem and don’t think one will be worth more than the other, especially in SS.

Neither watch is likely to beat a good stock index fund as an investment. To me, a Rolex is an indulgence and not an investment.
If you dive or time things, buy the Sub. If you travel and like a splash of color, buy the GMT. I bought the GMT and backed away from buying the Sub later because they look so much the same. My AD friend said the Sub Date and the DateJust out sell all the other Rolex, especially to new Rolex buyers. |

I have both and they're both great. BLNR looks bigger on wrist because of the thicker (or wider) bezel but if you compare them facing each other, they're of the same size.

The only way I can spot em from a distance is the PCL's on the GMT

The BLNR is the favorite in my collection. I have a blue Omega Seamaster for my "dive" watch, although my only diving experience consists of watching Lloyd Bridges in "Sea Hunt." |
