Glorious Journey

Greetings TRF members. Been a lurker for quite some time and have appreciated the opportunity to research and narrow down my search for the perfect 1st Rolex. My beautiful wife and I are currently in the Caribbean celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary when out of the blue this morning, she presents me with something nearly as beautiful as her, a gorgeous white faced DateJust II with fluted bezel on an oyster bracelet.

My heart stopped and the tears welled up as I opened the present and realized what was before my eyes. The exact watch I have zeroed in on after much research with a beautiful wife/mother who continues to get joy from giving joy.

Thankful to God for the perfect woman in my life who pays attention. As usual, this has been in the works between her and my two daughters for at least 6 months as it sat idle in the safe, only seeing the light of day long enough for my girls to take a picture with the watch on their wrist and a big smile months ago!

Grateful today on my 24th anniversary in beautiful Nassau. Pretty sure my wife was grateful last night at sunset on the beach as she was presented with a gorgeous set of diamond stud earrings she's always wanted but would never buy for herself. As is her MO, I was upstaged this morning before starting the day exploring the island and visiting every watch shop in the shopping district. Got my watch fix for a lifetime before ever setting foot out of the room this morning.

Hope you guys have enjoyed the short but heartfelt story of my first Rolex. Like my wife, perfect in my eyes!

I know you'll enjoy it. Nothing like a watch with sentimental value. Truly Priceless.

What a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing. It sounds like the perfect experience. The watch is special but the experience and thought behind it is even more so!

Beautiful story and watch. I welled up as my wife also gave me my first nice watch - a 1980s DateJust - a few years ago for Christmas. That gift is what got me into watches. I bet she regrets it now, haha.

Fantastic story... Thanks for sharing. My wife gave me my first Rolex sub when I turned 50. I have wanted one since high school... It was a small dream come true.

Congrats!

Yep Atlantis is a gorgeous property. Saw a SubC Date and Milgauss blue dial yesterday at the John Bull on property. The Sub was gone when I swung thru earlier today. Sports models were also non existent at the flagship store in town.
