Just looking for some views from everyone on my next pick up. Long story short the Day Date has always been my grail watch and finally it’s time to jump on one. Originally I was totally sold on the Pink gold, Green dial 60th Anniversary Day Date but having recently tried on a different Rose gold Day Date I realised that the rose just isn’t for me and my skin tone sadly. So now it’s yellow gold for me with the gold face, for me the classic Day Date I remembered from my childhood.

So it’s a 228238 for certain... I was totally set on the numerals as I love how they fill up the dial but I’ve been offered a great deal on a 228238 with the diamond baton markers. Thoughts please as I really need a few other opinions on this one.

Hmmm.... the DD40 with diamonds is around $29k and an excellent choice!

Went with the Romans and couldn't be happier. The Romans fill up the dial better and the way the light reflects off of them just makes the whole thing sing. Go with what you like, but if you're undecided, go Romans.

Thanks for the views so far everyone. It’s a very tough one for me as I’ve been offered a great deal on the diamond dial one, meaning the price difference is zero. I have to be honest I didn’t even know about the diamond baton on the Day Date till today so it’s a bit of a sudden development. For me Numeral and stick will 100% be Numeral but the diamond baton is really doing it for me. CJJ you are certainly right, love the way the Numerals fill the dial, hence why I’ve always wanted it but the diamond seems to bridge the gap rather nicely between the stick and numerals. It’s certainly going to be a tough call. Let’s face it neither are a bad option!

That's great Noxa! That's pretty much where i was with the chocolate dial version.... same price. Wife and her 17 y/o daughter got the final say.... said get the diamond. Glad they did.

I never thought I'd like or want diamonds on a watch but I changed my mind when I tried on a YGDD with diamond bezel. It just looked great and I don't really care for YG all that much. The Romans do also look great on the DD but if you're going for a statement piece, which the DD is, diamonds make more of a statement than the Romans. Of course there is no wrong choice... buy what you like and enjoy!

When i was in the market for the DD40 i ended up with the diamond dial. it looks super classy giving it a little bling. being dressed up or casual it still looks awesome imo.

Love the baguette diamonds on that dial. Simple and elegant with a very clean look. I prefer that to the numerals I find them too busy.

There are so many options with the Day Date.

I just have the plain YG White dial with Romans.

Similar to the above but with the slimmer 'right way up' Romans.
