No.

That would destroy Rolex games. Rolex does not even send extra dials to AD’s unless broken one is documented/sent to Rolex.

So...you could smash it with a hammer and then send it to them, right?

I don't think they will to a blue dial as it is a lot more popular.

Wouldnt hurt to call and ask them.

At one point I'm pretty sure you could do dial swaps on SS Daytonas in the UK. Don't know if that is still the case, or if it would be the same in India.

Short answer: No

Slightly longer answer: I just had the same situation come up a week ago. One of my ADs received a white SkyD, offered it to me at list. I told him I would take it in an instant if they could send it to Rolex and get the face swapped to blue. He indicated that might cost as much as $700. I told him fine, do it. He called back two days later and said they (Rolex) won't do it. I passed.

This move ruins Rolex game!
Then maybe we can send all Daytona to change the bezel!
Or we can send all Sky Dweller SS to put blue dial and in the end 80% are blue dial!

Then you could have one dial for different days! Won't work! Unless it got stolen and you can use insurance money to buy one in blue!

For a Datejust they do it. Currently for SkyD they won't. This will likely change in the future.

Different countries have different rules (Rolex in house rules), the best thing for the OP to do is call his local AD, or his country Rolex head office etc.

I hope it varies based on who you talk to because I don't like the answer I received from Dallas.

PM models only, only dials available on the original reference. (This makes sense)
Lateral moves or Upgrades only...Downgrades NOT allowed.

In other words, if you have a DD, you can go from stick to stick or stick to romans, but not diamonds to stick or romans.

If someone has a different experience lately, I am interested but I have no plans to swap anytime soon.

This makes no sense.

Why don't you buy the white dial version now and in addition buy the blue version and then just switch out the dials...then you would have an SS version with the blue dial!

:)

I am just funnin.

I feel your pain.....you want something and you have the funds and it truly isn't a "rare" item based on the term as we know it....but....Rolex restricts the supply and comes up with these "unique" rules that defy Marketing 101!

I read somewhere that Rolex is actually owned by a Trust whose biggest beneficiary is a private foundation that donates the money to causes?

May have gotten that mixed up but the gist of their ownership structure is that they are never concerned with short term or mid term profits...so they don't follow what traditional businesses would do.

I feel your pain.

Don't buy the white if you want the blue.

Just be patient and the AD gods will smile on you....

Good luck

I think that makes sense.

I know that for the DD....the glacier dial is only available in PT...but....any dial available for the WG DD models (like the anniversary olive) can be put on a PT model.

But the yellow gold dials cant be put on the PT models, I think?

The SkyD is unique as they are allowing the SS dials to be put on PM models...but....one thing to remember is...the newly designed wider oyster bracelet on the SS models does not come in WG....so that is the distinguishing factor people keep missing....the "don't really" look the same (and I am not talking about the subtle differences in color between ss and pt and wg or the heft)...in terms of pure appearance they are distinguishable to the naked eye because they do have different size bracelets that are noticeable.

I think Rolex is not upgrading the PM models with the new bracelet in order to distinguish the SS and WG models...since the dials are the same?
