How often do ADs receive deliveries from Rolex?

Monthly, weekly?

Dependant on the volume of sales or location?

This isn’t Gospel, but repeating what I’ve been told by various AD’s and their versions seem to be mutually consistent.

Volume of shipments seems to at least partially depend on how many watches they sell. So busy metropolitan AD’s will get more high-demand references than quieter rural dealers.

I’ve also been told that they will often not know in advance when stock is arriving. I don’t think shipments are regularly timed.

My AD (based in Belgium) typically has a shipment about once per month. But they never know what they will be getting.
I walked in wanting a blue dial OP 36. They did not have one in stock and I have to hope that there will be one in their next shipment.

Well, my AD rep told me that they have a Procurement department, so I think it's just like any other industry, they place a Purchase Order depending on their sales/inventory/etc.

Which makes sense. When dealing with expensive shipments like that you wouldn't want to make it easy for someone to plan a heist around set delivery times.

My AD said they received exactly 2 SS Daytonas last year.

If they have 30 people on the list ahead of me I figure I'll get the call in 2033.

I have a very good relationship with my AD and he told me that he has the delivery plan only for TT and PM models and the non Professional line models. So, the SS models of the Professional line are received by surprise let's say.

Pretty often. If you leave Rolexes in the case for more than a week, they spoil and need to be thrown out.

Or is that bananas?

ADs probably know when they will get shipments. They just won’t say so they won’t have a crowd of people waiting outside for their SS stock. It will be Black Friday every single time!

Both ADs I have purchased from have mentioned they receive shipments twice a month, but never know what they will receive.

That’s classified information that only Rolex and ADs know!

My AD told me they get a monthly delivery and they get an inventory about two days before it arrives, he said they then go through their list to see who to contact (for anyone on their waiting list) ...

cheers

The AD I've been casing for the last 4 months gets deliveries every other Tuesday between 2:10 and 4:20 PM. Don't ask me which one, I've already put in the time doing the leg work!

Rolex bundles their shipment of 1 sport model with around 5 other model (for example 1sub with 5 datejust etc), thats their policy to most AD. Yet again, the AD will not know whats coming. For most large Rolex chain, the importer definitely keep a few of the popular ones in stock, one of the reason for them to do this is to prevent reseller flipping those models for profit.

In my country, normally you are required to be on the list and you wait, however AD have a different kind of list, the VVIP reserved for the "special" people, in many cases they just call the AD and receive the watch without having to wait, unless the AD really ran out of those model for real.

I can go to my ADs now and be asked to wait for an unmentioned length of waiting period for a BLNR, or use my friends name who is in the VVIP list, and the AD would deliver him the next day.
