My first Tudor - Grantour

Saw this watch on Chrono24 ... watched some youtube reviews and videos and thought it looked great ...

Sent a lowball price suggestion to the seller figuring they would say no and counter ... but they ended up accepting my first offer.

New in Box with papers in stickers ... No name on Warranty card .. Original dealer was in Barcelona.

Thanks .. I figured it would be a cool watch to wear to car shows, casual weekends or while riding the motorcycle ... :) I don't know much about the history .. just that they weren't sold in the USA very long and had something to do with Tudor Racing sponsorship .. They of course have an ETA movement.

Very cool watch, nice find. I'm not 100% sure about this, and I'm certain I'll get torched if I'm wrong. But I believe that piece as not in production all that long and was replaced with the Heritage Chrono lineup, blue and black options. I think you have keeper there, congrats.

The Grantours and earlier Fastriders are some of my favorite Tudor modern chronos. Really good looking watches...but for some reason they didn't last long.

Anyway, congrats on yours!

Nice watch! I love the black markers and lettering contrasting with the dial color.

Very sharp!!! I love the Grantours and have two of the other models. The Flyback has eluded me and likely at this point I wouldn't get one. It is the top of the food chain when it comes to the GTs.

Here are my two to say "hello."

Here's a link to my review of the Chrono. They were intro'd in 2009 with the model reintro'd in 2011 with some modifications.

PS. FWIW, this was post 16,000.

Very Nice examples you have too !!

Great review and thanks for the link ....

Do you leave the Chrono running all the time ?? Seems like it on your first pic ...

They're still featured on the Tudor website in Hong Kong. All the ADs here seem to have them in stock.

I actually think I was timing something at the time. Hard to recall what. Either that or it was left on by accident after timing something. I like the 1/4 turn release on the timer buttons. It's much quicker then on the Daytona which I leave unscrewed or else the chrono is less useful to me. FWIW, I really really like the dial on yours.
