Submariner with date and worth the wait

New member here. First time Rolex owner. Finally popped my cherry on a black stainless steel submariner. Love it. But wanted to share my buying experience to give the members here another datapoint on the current shortage of professional models.

I live in San Diego California and spent about a month constantly calling and visiting 3 or 4 of the Rolex ad’s trying to find one in stock. No luck. Best I could do was get one to say they they would call me if one came in. All I got was a call for a no date. But even that was sold by the time I went in to buy it.

So I shifted gears and went on a trip to Las Vegas. I made the rounds figuring one of those fancy casino ad’s would have one. Well the first place, tourneau in caesars forum shops had one but it was already on the buyers wrist who walked in 10 minutes before me!

Undaunted I went to the Bellagio shop and no luck either.

Finally I went to the ad at the Wynn. (Insert your Steve Wynn joke here).

Really nice dealer lady said they didn’t have one in stock but were expecting a shipment the next day and she would call me if one came in. No luck, no submariner. But she was really nice and said if i would come in and put down a substantial deposit the next one to come in would be mine.

So short story long, it took 3 weeks for it to finally come in and I got it yesterday.

Totally worth the wait. I can’t stop staring at it on my wrist.
