16600 for BBB ETA...

I’m thinking of sending my 16600 into the sea and replacing it with a Tudor Black Bay Black ETA. Probably can’t keep both. Talk me out of it...

I think you should hang on to it...!!!

That might be the single most crazy ideal I've read on this forum. ever.

BBB Eta is a great watch, but the 16600 is a legend

If you really need the money then do what you got to do. Nothing wrong with the BBN but it's no 16600!!!

If you have tried both on and are willing to part with the Rolex I say go for it. Nothing beats a Rolex in my opinion but the Tudor is a lot of watch for the money and special in its own right.

No way...the 16600 is iconic and prices have been steadily creeping up.

speaking as a person who has flip flopped from rolex to tudor and back to rolex and then to omega and back to rolex and so on and so forth more times than i can count...

don't do it.

the 5 digit sea dweller is legendary, and you will almost assuredly regret it as soon as the honeymoon phase is over with the eta bb

I'll preface this by saying that I've had 4 Tudors, including a BBN. They're a great watch, but they always play second fiddle to Rolex in terms of feel, proportions, wearability, fit and finish, etc. Great watch, but I'd never make that trade with a 16600 outgoing.

Now, if you could somehow swing buying the Tudor and having both,, then that's the way I'd go, but I know that life committments sometimes don't allow for that.

This is all just my opinion of course, and YMMV. In the end, if you're happy then it was the right decision.

I have both. I like the BBN, but if it was between it and the 16600 I’d shed the BBN without a second thought.

The Sea-Dweller’s a great watch and for me, really comfortable to wear.

The BBB ETA is a must own for sure. But I’d try to keep the sea dweller as well.

Please don't do it! Unless you absolutely need the money. Tudor BBB ETA is a decent watch but nowhere near to being close to what the 16600 is, and represents.

I can’t believe you actually need talking out of this idea...

Keep your 16600. One of the best rolex watches of all time, and discontinued to boot.

the rolex is great but most people still don't understand the rarity of the black bay black bezel ETA.

We all know chrono24, more than 300.000 watches for sale

More than 350 Rolex 16600
Now start looking for the black bay Noir ETA.... You won't believe it

Zero, null, nada ... not 1

And if one comes up for sale it is sold in a heartbeat

I'm pretty sure this will be a VERY collectible in the future

Just look at the difference between a green sub 16610 and the same 16610 ' FAT FOUR'
the only stupid difference is the '4'in '40' in the bezel, and looks what it does to the demand / collectibility / price

The BBB ETA has a lot of differences compared with the new BBB in-house.

It's probably the most rare Rolex/Tudor in many decades

I must agree whole heartedly with you Sir.
I don't get it why people are so emotional about the 16600. There is a glut of discontinued 16600 in my local Malaysian eBay markets. Gawd! So many, I counted at least 20+ for sale in Jan/Feb alone. Prices remain stable and stagnant. Sell off the old SD and you can pick another 0ne down the road. But not a single ETA Black Rose in sight, actually I haven't seen any in the last 14 months

Don't do that. The BBB isn't nearly as nice, and can be purchased with a little saving.

Somebody may have already stated this, but I have never owned an ETA that performed as stable and reliable as a 3135 movement, I think you will regret the swap. Add the BBB, but don't lose the 16600.
