Rolex Tourneau SF
The Rolex boutique which I would call more like a shack is an embarrassment to the brand. Shreve is an another level which should be emulated. No wonder Taintneau was just sold. Maybe changes coming. :)

Bucherer is a well respected retailer here in Europe. It will be interesting to see what they do with Tourneau....

Quite a step up compared with some other AD's. Downside is that they don't give discounts, at least not to me. So there is hope that they will upgrade the AD experience for Tournneau outlets.

I believe the associate that you come across is definitely a huge factor in determining experience. Although I do agree that the Rolex boutique in SF could be upgraded as Shreve off post is that much more pleasant to be in and deal with.

SF Tourneau and their affiliate the Rolex boutique next door has always been a disgrace in the SF Bay Area watch community.
I doubt Bucherer will clean house and start anew. My guess is they will keep their top producing (aka. shady) staff and let the rest go. A new skin for an old wolf... |

Went to the Tourneau in Naples Fl, they were fine, and helpful. Put my name on their list for a Hulk, got the call two weeks later.

X2, nice folks. Like all retail, great service is driven by local management.

I visited the store last year during my trip to SF. Other than being small what's wrong with it?

I've never had an issue with the SF Boutique. They have always been great to me. Maybe I got lucky with the right sales woman (Toni) off the bat, but she has been good to me over the years. I'm no VIP, but they have gotten me what I wanted with out silly list games and other BS sales tactics. There is a more "reputable" AD much closer to me, but every time I go in (monthly) to look at the case, I get the AD games from them. When I got my DSSD Blue, SF had it for me in two weeks. Put my name on the "list" at the other place and was told a year. 8 months later got a call from them "as someone else backed out." I'd already been wearing the JC for 8 months by then.
I think with the T store, it depends on the salesperson you get. Since I have only dealt with one sales person there over the years, I have no complaints. I think it's a sales person issue rather than a AD issue. I was at another "reputable" AD when traveling, and the sales person was trying to tell me my 2015 bluesy i was wearing had been discontinued and I should consider buying the new one. I laughed and told her she must be confused with a flat smurf dial which was discontinued circa 2013. She sat there and argued and told me I was wrong. She even pulled the bluesy from the case for a comparison. I indulged for humor purposes. Even then she could not admit she was wrong. The store manager, who I have dealt with before, came over told her he would take over and apologized for the "new" employee's behavior. LOL another time, at the T-store vegas location, an associate tried to tell me the platinum daytona was one of the most rare watches on earth. I chuckled inside and asked to try on such a watch. Then I asked what the cash price would be and he told me there was no way he could discount such a fine and rare timepiece HAHAHAHA. Shop the sales associate, not the AD. All ADs are full of BS and goofy snakes of employees. |

I am by no means an expert on ADs or their practices, but in my limited experience the few times I've been to the Rolex/Tourneau shop in SF I was underwhelmed.
The salesmen I've dealt with seemed, I hate to say it, a bit like used car salesmen. I went in with some specific questions and the whole time the guy was trying to steer me in a completely different direction toward some pieces they had in the case, I assume because they didn't have what I was looking for. I guess that's just their job, but I still didn't leave with a great feeling. Interesting to hear others have had similar experiences. |

I have never met a knowledgeable salesperson at any tourneau.
I walk in randomly from time to time because it's nice to see so many brands in one place. That's the only thing tourneau is good for.

The retail experience has changed forever. Give me a top TS on our Forum. At least two of them in any case. The most pleasant and easy buying/selling experiences I've ever had for Rolex transactions as well as some high value non-Rolex examples. To each their own--we've all got our Rolex buying stories and they're all interesting to read about. |

Tourneau is not alone and the lack of knowledge can be found in some places. I called an AD in Shreveport and asked their owner for a Sea Dweller. He asked back what color of the dial I would like.

I agree that you have to shop the sales associate. Although most of the sales associates I’ve ever encountered at T were not knowledgeable, there is one seems like she knows what she’s talking about and not try to give me the usual “this is super rare” talk

My various experiences of tourneau in NYC led me to the belief that only a complete noob with more money than sense would actually shop there. Overpriced, and sales people clueless, rude, and plain greedy. Horrendous excuse of a dealer.

There are three relatively local to me. Two on long island and one in nyc. The smaller of the two on Long Island is a joke. I brought a DD in about 7 years ago to get an estimate to sell it to them. The sales rep insult me and told me the watch was fake. He said they didn’t do diamonds in the older day dates and that since the bracelet has a permanent link removed it must be fake.
I left the store, a couple years later had the watch serviced and authenticated at Rolex NYC. Also received an offer from Sotheby’s to sell the watch with a $17.5k reserve. The bigger of the two on LI has a much nice selection and is a nice looking store with Rolex attached to it. The sales people are nicer, more professional but are still just people working 9-5 (type) jobs who clearly don’t care about watches. I find the NYC store to be impressive in every regard except for pricing. They have an amazing selection and a knowledgeable staff. I’ve experienced some slightly pushy sales people there but overall my “window shopping” experiences have always been positive. |

I was wearing an AP at the one in King of Prussia and the salesman acted like it was such a hassle to let me try on a few Rolexes and an Omega in 2012. Haven’t. Been to one since.
