3 maxis from Rolex...which one's your favourite?
Hi guys,
Rolex now have THREE maxi dial models - the LV Sub, YM and now the new GMT-II. Which one do you think looks the best and the one you like? Vote with comments please. Thanks - JJ PS: I think at present the YM looks best; but the GMT-II in SS and the maxi dial would be a real cracker!!

As I'm not a fan of the YM and still have to get used to the GMT, (although I like the vintage brown) I voted for the LV

Gotta go with the YM. Saw the LV in person, and thought the maxi really didn't fit the sub character.

I voted for the YM also. I like the dial ALOT. Its going to be my purchase in a few days if I decide between that and a TT Sub with Serti dia.

I voted for the new GMT. I really like the new movement and the new bezel. I like the look, and superior glow, of the maxi dials. The YM (steel) is my most-worn watch, but the Sub get plenty of days too. I'm looking to getting the new TT GMT.

I voted YM - it was designed with the maxi-dial in mind, on the sub it's an afterthought.
Every time I see an LV, which I agree is a handsome watch, the maxi-dial somehow looks fake to me, as I'm so used to the regular one Quick question though - are the luminous dots on the Maxi-dials the same size as the old tritium dots on eg the 5513? - maybe the white gold edges on the regular sub dials mean the actual luminous portions shrunk, but have now been restored nearer the 'original' size? |

Thanks Mike......
Okay, JJ - looks like our 16610's aren't the 'classic' subs we thought they were - gotta flip them for LV's and change the bezels to black

LV for me: no surprises there I suppose
That comparison pic above is lovely (and very interesting). The maxi dial looks soooooo right now.... like the Sub has always been maxi (and it was good before!) The large minute hand just aids the clarity |

YachtMaster!
I dislike the green bezel of the LV, and the green-dial of the GMT II. George |

The black-dialed GMT II with the green lettering doesn't turn my stomach TOO badly, but I'd like it better if the letter were white. George |

I agree the lettering's a little awry in green (though it follows in the footsteps of the likes of the 'Red' Submariner
and I actually think the green 4th hand is a nice subtle touch and especially on an all gold watch is better than a red hand would have been. IMO. |
