Thoughts on this AP...
I came across this AP Royal Oak 41mm. I have never seen a AP box with the logo all over it. The watch looks fake to me but your thoughts?

My late H series have similar box. Based on the AP applied logo on the dial, it’s probably H series too.

Looks legit to me from the pics. My outer box also has the AP logo all over it as well.

The pictures are really bad, can’t zoom in to tell the subtle differences that can make it real or fake.
With what I can see a few things stick out to me that I have questions about. The tiny “AP” should be skinnier if it is from the H series or older. The box and papers suggest it is older. The gap between the “A” and “P” should not be “blank”, it should be white between the letters. The dial itself, colors are hard to tell with the lighting, but the hours markers at 12 and 6 should not extend or even line up with the 5th square running down the grand tapisserie dial. The rotor is too blurry to see if the Audemars Piguet family crest looks good or not. I would request clearer pictures to see the rotor especially. |

Could be a Fake
The box and books are a 'tell'. Great video on youtube of how a big grey dealer almost got faked out on an AP Diver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5rS8Xh50e4 |

Looks fake to me. Take any 3120 movement in the same position and compare. Doesn’t look like mine.

Box is not the only tell here. It's a close, but not quite there copy of the box supplied with H-series and earlier pieces.
Watch is 100% fake. Trust me on this one. The dial is enough to give it away and the back - that's no 3120 in there (a genuine 3120 has the balance wheel at the bottom right when viewed from the back.) |

Fake!
Even allowing for colour saturation and contrast giving the impression that it’s Titanium rather than bright SS, and the dial hue a bit suspect, one thing can’t be replicated when it comes to the movement. Without detailing what that is, although the fake reproducers know exactly what I’m referring to, a simple bit of deduction from the small rear photo is all one needs to arrive at the correct, and same conclusion. |
