No. Due to the new gaskets/seals which haven’t been repeatedly compressed, the crown should not tighten down as much as it previously did.

Would be a bummer if your crown lined up before service and it didn't after.

No, the casetube threading on a Rolex never gets positioned the same onto the case unless by chance.

It does seem that Rolex has started lining up the crown in new watches though, at least the last year I have seen many, mine included that point to the 12 o’clock position. Too many to be conicedental.

The crown on my new DJ II doesn't line up. Am I doing something wrong? Should I send it in for service immediately? Maybe it is a rare model that will skyrocket in value!!

I sold my Explorer because the crown didn't line up.

Remember, it’s barely “finger tip” tight. Do not reap on the crown when tightening it down. It’s not a lug nut.

Only the PM Sky Dweller is fitted with an always upright crown

On my 8th Rolex. Last one I traded a few days back had a perfectly aligned 12 crown. First one I ever had like that. Now I am leaning right to 130 on the new one. Good thing I'm older and cant really see it without magnification.
