Yet another 16600 vs. 116600 (with different assumptions)
Hi friends,
I know this topic has been discussed over and over. However, I'd like to ask again because my assumptions are different from other threads. Currently, I have Green Sub (Hulk), Ex I (39mm), Daytona (Black-Steel), Sub-No Date (14060), Sub-No Date (114060), GMT-Batman, GMT-Coke, Explorer 2 (Polar; M series red hand).. I don't like the new red-sea though.. I like the look of 16600 and 116600. I don't want to get both.. too many for me :) Here is what I think... 1) I already 2 film bezel (Coke and 14060) and 3 Ceramic (114060, Batman, Hulk) - 16600 will balance 3 bezels of ceramic and film 2) 16600 looks close to 14060. I have 114060 which already close to 14060. Better get 116600 to have more different collection 3) The condition of 16600 is not as good as 116600 since it has been around for years. But who cares? 4) Both 16600 and 116600 are no longer in production. Can you please help me ? Not easy decision though... |

Get the newer 116600. Better band, better bezel. Better everything all around.

I have some of the same watches, and I have a 16600 and SD4K also. Bottom line, SD4K is my all-time favorite, and I’d pick it versus nearly anything else. Great watch.

There’s nothing better necessarily about the 116600 over the 16600...just personal preference...I had both then sold the 116600 just to end up buying another, so I have both again, but if I had to choose bt the two, I’d personally go with the 16600...it just sings to me more so than the 116600...you can’t really go wrong with either reference IMO...they’re both absolute tanks

And btw, what exactly is a ‘film’ bezel? Im assuming youre referring to the insert of the 5 digit refs which is aluminum...never heard it referred to as film

LOL... if you REALLY want something different, go with a 16660 matte dial. If budget allows, steps up to 4 digit ref like a 1665 or 1680 white.
