Explorer 2

I am thinking about getting a polar white 42mm. Should I find an AD or buy from a trusted seller at discount? Do y'all think the AD will cut me a deal??

The best,

NB

I would check TS prices then visit an AD with that number in mind. Some ADs will match or come close to it because explorers arent as quick to move as other professional models

This sounds about right. If AD can come close would go w AD if you wish to build a relationship.

I guess that is another consideration. Building a relationship will be key to acquiring the SS Sky D that I am drooling over

It wouldn't hurt to see if they would cut you a deal. Explorer 2 seems to be the only thing in the case these days. Tempted to pick up a polar myself actually

I think it must be a location thing. I started looking for a polar back in sept ‘17 and couldn’t find any within a couple hours of meal I gave up. Then just happened to go to an AD in a local mall last week and they just got one in a couple days prior. And now there are no polars around but they do have black at a couple AD’s. They even have a waiting list for the polar at full pop. I love mine and had no issues paying retail since the only discounted ones I could find were on eBay and I wasn’t going that route.

I guess youre right! At the 3 local ADs I visit the explorer II in both colors seems to always be present, along with the milgauss

I've seen the same. Always see a few around in the ADs I visit in the LA area.

I was at an AD the other day and they had a used model. Out of warranty. But I tried it on and really liked it. Super comfortable. Large and legible. Seems like a solid watch. Just not sure on 8200 plus tax on a new one

Trusted seller. Let someone else take the 25% out the door depreciation.

Trusted seller all the way. Save on price and sales tax. I’ve never had a bad experience with a TS.

I bought a black dial BNIB from a TS. Don't regret it at all and saved a chunk.

Buy new from AD, after 10-15% it’s only $500ish more than grey.

I bought mine BNIB from a TS, no AD would come close on price even paying cash. This was 5 years ago but still. Go with a TS and save the $ for your next purchase!

Bought my black Explorer II last summer, 2016 complete set, for more than 30% off MRP from a reputable seller... White were cheaper, now seem to fetch a little more...
As far as building a relationship with an AD, you might as well build one with your neighbors cat, it'll be as equally effective....

Truth. I can't tell you how many AD's have me on a "list" for something or another. They never call my broke ass. I figure they give the daytonas and Sky D to the big fish customers.

First time “poster”. Went to local AD last night and found Explorer II for 12% off. Not sure what good looks like when buying new.

The TS pricing on this one has risen considerably recently, at least for BNIB. Your best bet is to do some shopping around.

I'm also looking for one. Looks like ADs have them in stock but have yet to find one willing to budge on price, making used/TS the best option.

I recommend going the ts route. You should be able to get a nice one w/ factory warranty for just over $6K. Good luck, it's a great watch!

Or maybe wait a few weeks to see if Basel gives the explorer II a new look? Ceramic bezel maybe?

I bought mine from a TS here about a year ago. Glad I bought it when I did. Wear this way more than my sub or blnr. Thinking I’m going to add a black dial eventually.

The best modern day Rolex Sports watch by far imo. Absolute eye candy at its best.

Saved 20% BNIB Polar from TS last Fall (and 25% on a Ladies DJ). Would definitely do it again.
