Yacht-Master bezel refinishing
My supervisor taught me his magic today, refinishing a Yacht-Master bezel the Rolex way.
He is a wizard. |

Awesome
Is that achieved purely through polishing or is it chemical dipped first to remove the bulk of grime & crud? Cheers Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Woah. Wait wait, some clue as to how this is done? Or are you sworn to secrecy? Looks amazing. That much is clear.

Cheers guys!
My supervisor (master watchmaker) showed me how to do one first, then assisted me during the refinishing of this. I was just as amazed as you. Quote:

What is it... bead blasting followed by polishing the numbers and markers and triangle by hand with a flex-shaft?

Polishing is done on the Rolex lapping machine, not a regular polishing machine as that would polish the blasted parts again...

Very impressive Bas. My wife has the 35mm TT Yacht-Master blue dial and the bezel kinda looks like the first picture. Nice job, extraordinary work there.

Great work but keep away your head form that guy so it don't be overpolished.

Very good work and excellent result. By the way was the insert removed from the bezel itself while sandblasting?

We have specific bezel holders for during the blasting. Only the numbers need to be polished again, they are fully blasted as well. |

Why not masking the numbers? I actually thought they did it when they blasted.
