Are some Rolex Retail watches GPS tracked?

Almost every rolex robbery I recall reading that there are some of the goods that were tracked with GPS. I recall reading a few times that they find just the ones that have GPS trackers left behind. Seeing as how these robberies are often smash and grab (perhaps some with inside knowledge) and this from the display, does this mean some of the watches sold to customers have GPS trackers in them?

Where would they be hidden? Inside with the movement? Uh, No.

Hmm.... maybe it's the holder or the pillow thing that's has it.
Guess they just grab and don't really take time to take off the holder ?

The answer is yes, that's a deep sea 's case is so big

It has to be some crazy spy story if we are talking about putting a tiny GPS track into a Rolex

I would think that the GPS tracker is removed if a customer buys said watch?

GPS tracked Rolex watch......... very unlikely; I'd bet a donut that no Rolex has one, at least not from the factory.

More likely they would clone your phone when they see you buy it.

GPS trackers wouldn’t help Rolex. All their inventory is pre-paid before it’s shipped to RUSA. They wouldn’t help RUSA either - the ROJ is billed on shipment to the shop. The only beneficiary would be the ROJ.

And yes, some do put them on things that are attached to every Rolex...the inventory and other tags. Thieves are in a hurry so they usually don’t get around to removing all the tags until they are somewhere else.

Some news stories mentioning the GPS trackers on or inside Rolex:

https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/l...308338001.html

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2016/...acking-device/

I believe these two are related

Of the many things i like about mechanical watches and other old metal items is that they are not electronically traceable. I like to drive around in a non-traceable old car with AM radio going and a rolex. Given how long I've been part of the smart phone world (think windows ce), it's refreshing to be "off phone."

Yup. Removed at the time of purchase.

The invisible GPS tracker must be built in those protective stickers that ADs are now required to remove except when selling to gray market sellers.

James Bond had a Rolex with a laser beam cutting tool in it, wait, what was the question?

I wouldn't mind if Rolex had a "fake" or "bugged" back casing that was in place when the watches were on display... if it helps catch the bad guys I am all for it...

of course when purchased, they could swap the back...
