This ok?... dial more patina then hands EXP2 16750
Watch has rsc dallas paperwork from 2012. Exp2 1675 with an N serial number, 1991 model with T<25 tritium dial. Is this normal for the patina on dial to be alittle darker then the hands? The seller and rsc paperwork say hands werent changed. Asking fellow trf gurus for any info on this. Thanks. Rsc paperwork shows $1100 total service. Seller asking low $4k? Good deal?

It looks virtually identical... just a little off. Yes... Hands and markers can patina at different rates. A vastly different level of patina would indicate new hands or possibly even aftermarket hands.

Sometimes I wonder if there are sellers out there who might change hands on all watches they come across. Those hands are made of 18k white gold. Putting cheap replacement hands on a watch would be something that would rarely be noticed.
Remember that the hands and markers basically have luminous paint in them. A slight difference in mixture during different batches could result in a slight difference in color. |

The price is good, but they certainly look like the hands have been changed at service, maybe not the most recent service? A way to tell would be to test the lume because the tritium (fantastic patina btw) will have no glow left but I’m betting those hands do...
The real question is will the difference bother you. I have a buddy who had a 1680 with service hands and the difference in patina (just like your 16570 photos) drove him nuts and made him sell it. Personally I actually still like the hands to have lume so could live with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Those are probably factory hands either changed at this service and not listed, or at a prior service. It is common for Rolex to swap out the hands when a full service is done. It wouldn’t bother me at all esp given that this watch has other service parts as well . $4k seems like a great price to me .

Since it has the rsc paperwork and service card, with service box and documents. Is this just as good as original paperwork?

You're really coming out ahead in this deal. Even if the hands were replaced at service it's a great deal.

I think the hands have been changed somewhere along the way. |

The hands haven't been changed. Hands age differently than lume plots. I have a gmt bought new in 1994 that looks very similar.
