Datejust vs Oyster Perpetual His and Her watches

I am planning to get a watch for me and my wife.
We are choosing between the Oyster Perpetual and the Datejusts, 36 for me 34 for her.
This won't be my first rolex but it will be her first.
Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

yup. she can't decide! at first she wanted the simple clean look of the OP. now she's thinking twice because she likes the fluted bezel on the datejust.

My wife doesn't use the date function and would probably prefer OP. But my wife isn't your wife, though.

Let her decide.

If it was my decision I would go with the DJ...

Yes. Or forever live in regret since the watch is rotting in the safe instead of getting wrist time.

Op for my wife, wears it a lot, understated and heresy to some but for her the date is available on any screen nearby.

The op was a wedding gift which has kept me in ‘credits’ for a while

Thanks for everyone who chimed in! This is what ended up being our his/her combo. Most important thing is she is happy! Cheers!

Lovely pair of watches there. I'd love to get a Rolex for my partner one day.
