GMT help!
About to pull the trigger on a GMT II (16710) and am seriously torn between two watches.
Black bezel 16710 in good condition (7/10) with box & papers Pepsi bezel 16720 in great condition (near NOS) with current RSC (till 2020) and box with spare black bezel but no original papers The Pepsi is €300 more. I'm looking for a Pepsi ideally but want a black bezel too to swap out occasionally (the lower price of the black is enough to buy a spare Pepsi bezel) Can't decide which to go for! |

No papers would be a deal breaker for me. I'd go with the black bezel 16710 and source a pepsi bezel in the future or hold off until I found another full set.

Is the Pepsi a 16710? I think you might have a typo with the 16720 model designation?
I would go with the Pepsi and then take it to RSC to be serviced and authenticated. Then, you will have some "papers."

As a collector, papers matter. But if you’re like me and plan to wear the watch daily, papers are superfluous. The Pepsi is the one I’d get, especially given the superior condition.

I’d get the Pepsi. I have a black bezel insert and have never swapped it out. I have an SD so I have the black bezel arena covered. And believe me, once you go Pepsi, you’ll never go back.

It is a tough call, and have had that decision to make myself.
A recent RSC service gives peace of mind watch is all correct and you can just get on and wear and enjoy it. However some buyers must have the papers even if a watch is in worse condition. Have you seen the watches as I notice you are quoting a € price? You can purchase an extra bezel insert for £60 from RSC UK. |

I think you are right. Pepsi plus rsc. It's to wear not to invest. Just see all the posts about having to have papers and get confused. |

Condition is paramount.
You should not pass a mint watch for an inferior watch just because of "papers" unless there is some driver that would make it a better choice: rarity, desirable options, valuable accessories, etc.

Savvy buyers will try to bargain you down- by any and all means (who wouldn't) and point to the absence of papers. |

As you won’t wear the papers id definitely go for the Pepsi if it’s in much better condition.

Does it come with the papers from the RSC service?

Would be an easy call for me. The Pepsi. Watch condition trumps expired warranty papers and the current RSC service is icing on the cake.

Go with the best condition one. For only 300 more. Inserts are inexpensive so Coke versus Pepsi is inconsequential.

Pepsi and Coke will hold their value better. Paper isn’t a problem, the first time you get your watch serviced, you’ll get papers.

Condition over papers. B+P 7/10 vs 9.5-10/10 for 300 more, and a spare insert + recent RSC service docs? No brainer.

It depends whether the Pepsi is an original Pepsi... The service papers usually state 16710 BLRO if it was Pepsi from factory. A lot of them started life as a black bezel and have had them swapped out for a Pepsi

If you are buying to hold and wear, get the better condition Pepsi.

I'd go with the Pepsi if it has service papers due to the condition. Not really much difference either way but an authentic Pepsi bezel isn't the easiest thing to source for a decent price.
