Lange and Journe resale?
I’m interested in purchasing a Lange 1815 Chrono or Journe (model TBD) at some point and was wondering how the resale is. There’s surprisingly little intel on second hand priced out there, so I thought I’d turn to you ever-knowledgeable lot. Is it worth buying used into these brands?

Yes for sure. Chrono bleu is the only exception I can think of from either brand. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I personally would not buy a new Lange or Journe (CB is the exception), you can pretty much expect to take a bath on resale even if you get a good discount from an AD. Even on the used market at fire sale prices they can still take some time to move. But on the secondary market, some of them are incredible values next to the overhyped AP, PP and Rolex models.

I think the new WG 1815 will hold value best of the Lange's as its a slow limited release and quite sought after, see what ap1, Adam, says, he's got one and knows more.

Concur with what others have said, with some very limited exceptions on both brands buying used is the best route.
For FPJ even the CB, which most identify as the best model in the line up for holding value, is being offered at $19k or so used. And that's the "ask" price. For ALS the newer 1815 Chrono seems to now be floating around the $41-43k market (like new, I don't think I've seen used), but surely will fall to the mid-$30's once there's a little more supply out there. You need a little patience with these brands. Volumes aren't high, which means you may need to bide your time for the watch you want at the price you like. |

You called? I answer. I waited about 7 months for mine to arrive being told it’s one of the first to hit us market through an AD not boutique. The 1815 Black Dial chrono is a beauty and im very happy with it. This is a steal compared to its 5170 peer. One of the guys pointed out a popular reseller here listed one near 40k. I was a little surprised to see it listed nib for that number so soon with it being a Ltd rollout. Neil, our thesis may have holes. That said I think the msrp is up 2k already after only a few hit the US market so that helps I suppose.
