Need Help On Used Rolex Pricing!
Hi All,
I am considering buying my first sub and am specifically focused on two models. I am looking to buy used and would very much appreciate getting some thoughts about where these watches currently price in the secondary market. You guessed it - I am looking at 116610 (ceramic bezel) and 16610 (aluminum bezel) I assume these are frequently transacted watches (black subs) with defined price points. Looking for both with papers and would really appreciate any color. Thanks, TIMECOP! |

Check e-bay and similar sources for prices.

I’d also suggest looking at the classifieds here for a baseline.

eBay and Chrono24. The great thing about Chrono24 is that you can filter your search criteria according to the age of the watch.

The sales section of this forum and Chrono24 are the best indicators.

Don’t get too focus on the price, focus on the watch itself, has the watch been polished? Is the bracelet stretched(not so much an issue with the newer solid links bracelet), scratch, etc... look at the bezel... is the seller reputable? Does it come with all the papers, tags and original box? There are a lot of junk out there... also a newer ceramic sub isn’t a deal on the pre-own market right now, might as well buy new.

Make sure the watch is 100% authentic before you buy. If you can't do that, then do not buy it.

No defined price points that can be predicted in this current market. Just compare to what else is on the market in similar shape. If you're happy with the price, make it happen!

Here is what I'd throw out there for RETAIL pricing
-Like New full set mint condition 116610LN - MSRP. Or, let's say around $8,500 -Like New, no holes 16610, full set -$7,000 -Slightly older, holes 16610, maybe not quite mint, full set - $6,500 Adjust for seller, condition, set etc.
