Tudor GMT & 58 waitlists
After much deliberation I am considering getting a Tudor GMT or a BB 58. Anyone else planning to get one and have you heard of there being any waitlists. One AD asked me for a 20% if I wanted one... only problem is without seeing them both in the metal I can’t decide and don’t fancy putting down 2 deposits.
Eager to hear your thoughts. Thanks watchfam! |

20% Down on one to veiw two is ok if you pick the watch you like, and if you dont like money back does not seem bad . I like the look of them id make sure i had both pockets full just in case .

Difficult for me to see the need to put money down on a Tudor

My AD has only two on the Waitlist for the GMT Tudor. Not even taking names for the Rolex Pepsi or BLNR.

Waitlists? Simply heard "Will call when they come in". Don't fan non-existing flames please.

In London I expect so. If you can get in at a small town you might get first dibs. Don't think the locals only rule applies to Tudor... yet...

I don’t understand the waitlist talk for Tudor. There’s never been a shortage of any Tudor. Why do you think it would start now?

I contacted my AD who stocks Tudor and I am 5th in line for the GMT and 1st for the 58.
The 58 would possibly be my first choice. The reason for that, is not only does it mark the 60th anniversary of the original (I believe) Tudor dive watch. But also my 60th year on this planet :-)

When they're routinely available, I'll consider one. Until then, no deposit, no markup above retail, perhaps a 15% discount.

Had a quick chat with my AD, , he doesn't expect there to be any supply constraints for the Tudor.

I’m considering a BB58 but no way I’m putting my name on a wait list, not putting down a deposit and most certainly not paying retail. The hype for these watches wont last like Daytona, SkyDweller or other Rolex. This time next those watches will be available with discounts at ADs, I’m in no hurry.

I’m 2 in line for the 58 and 5 or 6th for the GMT here in London. But I don’t think there will be long waits like there is with Rolex. Supply will be much better so those wait lists should evaporate fairly quickly.

i agree to an extent. i know the special edition dealer ones (e.g. harrolds and bucherer) are selling above MSRP. do you think the initial demand will sub-side? i forget if the heritage chronos were a popular watch when introduced. i still most black bays still available and sold at a discount pre-owned. |

I did put a small downpayment for the Tudor GMT, it shows my AD I am serious and committed, probably the reason I get on the top of the list for hard to get Rolex watches, such as the new Rolex GMT Pepsi.

might as well just pre pay in full. That makes more sense than 20% down on a Rolex Pepsi that isnt coming any time soon.
I still dont think a deposit is necessary on a Tudor unless you have to have the first one, they will be readily available a few months after release im sure.
