Datejust 41
Which dial is the rarest? Does the band choice make a difference?
I can get one for $7,700 NIB w/tags and all papers. Is that a good price? thanks! |

Is that the price for the polished bezel or the fluted? Great price if it’s the fluted.

I personally haven’t seen the grey dial with green Roman numerals yet, not sure if it is rare or not.

And why do you ask about what difference a band makes? You are obviously new to watches so I'll give you a couple of pointers. Firstly, Rolex don't have bands per se. They currently only have Bracelets which(depending upon model) are more commonly or exclusively Oyster Bracelets but the Jubilee Bracelet is becoming popular again due to expanding the range of models is offered on. There is also the President Bracelet, which is only available on a limited range of relatively exclusive models. Since your thread title is in reference to the DJ 41 your choice is restricted to either the Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Which leads me to the next pointer. That is, simply get what you like the look of. Fundamentaly they work the same and serve the exact same purpose. In terms of style, they are different with one feeling silkier on the wrist with more of a type of blingy appearance. The other is more sporty oriented with a different type of bling associated with it which typically shows scratches, marks and fingerprints more. It's all a matter of personal preference so get what you like and enjoy it to the full |

Or looking at vintage watches instead and posting his questions on the vintage forum. To the OP. For the foreseeable future any DJ 41 is a totally unknown quantity with soo many variations on offer it would be absolutely impossible to forecast what the state of play will be in 50 + years when it may make a difference. In the meantime. Nobody will care in the slightest. |

Thanks, everyone. I am a newbie so appreciate you cutting me some slack.
Basically, I just got set up with an AD that can get me great pricing (in comparison to what I have seen online). I am looking for pieces to quickly flip and also looking for some pieces that are a longer-term value that I can enjoy and not worry about the price dropping drastically for years to come. Any specific pieces you recommend besides the Ceramic Daytona, and SS sky dweller? I see online that the subs go higher than MSRP. |

But you have just identified yourself as a large part of our much discussed problem on this forum for both watch enthusiasts and Rolex themselves. World Wide |

There are better ways to make money than flipping watches you get from an AD. Get a new hobby. |

And perhaps go away. He gets some sort of an "in" with a dealer of some description, and wants to become wealthy at our expense |

But before he goes he should invest in a two-tone diamond dial Datejust. Big money in those.

Sorry to see you wasted so much time and effort on a naive flipper who doesn't share our values on watches. But I will give him credit on being so straight.

I'll give him that too For the record. I believe he may turn a corner and become a valued member of the forum. Perhaps even he will give up his day job to become a highly respected Grey in the fullness of time. Perhaps his honest qualities, will become a singularly defining hallmark of his dealings on the way to his watch collecting/grey dealer nirvana. In the mean time. I would suggest he not become a part of the problem. |

Just remember that if he posts a DJ41 for sale, offer $7700 plus shipping.
