Today was a great day
So I had another thread on the AP RO. I was struggling with whether to buy the AP 15400. While I was trying on the vacheron overseas and debating the 15400, my wife asked...if you had the Daytona, nautilus or royal oak in front of you which would you buy? I replied the nautilus, but I’ll never get it cause of wait list. But would love the Daytona, but also long list. So whatever...
Fast forward to days end. I just put down 20% down payment for a Daytona C black which I will get in 2 months. :). Can u say INCOMING!!!! Separatley, I’m on the Daytona C white list which is 1.5 years with maybe 5 people, nautilus 5711 while 1.5-2 years, and 5711 blue - I think that is 5 years. :). And this (quasi)new relationship is going to also put me on Pepsi. Just as FYI... the black dayC list was not as long and the Ad gets a watch every 2-3 months. Same delivery on the white but there is 5 people for every 1 watch. So my wait on dayC white is about 4-5 people deep... in the meantime I’m going to get a Daytona c black. Oh and to all u Vegas haters... this was in Vegas :) So pumped!!! |

:) When I placed my 20% down,... apparently there is a Rolex number tied to the deposit and the customer. my wife was estatic, she said she will wear the white one. And I wear the black one lol. She was as happy as I was. I was asked if I wanted the Batman and hulk as well but don’t like those... Plus my daughter was like yay! We bought a ss daytona lol She also learned today not to buy PM watches because the value drops lol. Definitely great day |

I put 20% for the black. Apparently you put a deposit based on the what the manufacturer requires. Since my name is now tied to a Rolex order now... I had to pay down payment. They will call me to put another down payment when I get assigned the next watch. So only $2460 Yes. I have a relationship with this ad. But it’s a national chain. I told them since they treated me right, I will buy all my future watches from this specific store as long as they can get them. |

I believe down payments are dealer determined. It's their choice how they manage you and your money. I put down 50% on my Sky D and many thought I was an idiot. I do have the watch and was one of the first to get it!!!!

You could probably right, i dont have strong knowledge on this...it was just explained to me that way... AD also mentioned that patek doesnt need a deposit yet since we are that far out. they also asked if i want a ss sky dweller lol. Too big for me tho. Its like i found Eden. Apparently there is a limit on how much money you need to spend to get on a VIP list. I use to just walk in and buy a watch wherever but recenlty i bought 3 watches in a month so it helps. This new sales person is going to be my new best friend. :) Btw the 20% i think was not a firm number. I got the sense i could have put less down. |

Very lucky. I've essentially accepted I won't own a Daytona for 10+ years. It's kind of disappointing seeing people getting both too

Thanks guys, I know im lucky, but i really feel happy because
1) i feel like i have direction in my collection as well since we should effectively have staggard incomings for the next 2 years and 2) my wife is as excited about this as i am and 3) my 8 year old is learning about these watches as we go watch shopping together with her tt. Its become a family affair. |
