Chronomat evolution B01 thoughts?

I’m looking to buy a Chronomat evolution for my father in law. Ever since I purchased mine in 2006, he’d always mention how much he liked it and I’d catch him glancing many times.

How has the B01 movement turned out as a longer term owned piece? I remember the issues with power reserve or date not changing.

My Chronomat has been working perfectly since day 1.

Ideally, I’d like to find him another one like mine but it’s pretty hard to find one is excellent condition and preferably from the original owner.

Is the B01 movement worth it?

Mine..

I have the B01 in my Navitimer but only two and a half years old.
No issues to date.

I would buy a later B01 so I think it would be labeled a "Chronomat 44". The Chronowerks versions are sick. I think they did work out some kinks, early ones had some issues reported.

Shouldn't be too many issues with newer B01's. From what I recall it was the first year or two after they released where some individuals had issues with them. Tudor is also using them now as the basis for their MT5813 and I can't say that I have seen or heard anything negative from Tudor Black Bay Chrono owners.

Your Chronomat Evolution is stunning by the way

I have a B04, Been back twice to the mother ship so far. Power reserve this last time. I think the first time it was not winding. They did complete service both times and was covered under warranty. I bought new from AD. Love the watch. Have owned it about 7 years.

My B01 is over 8 yrs old. It has worked flawlessly without any issues. I wear it on a regular rotation with my other watches.

How do those super shiny bracelets hold up wear and tear wise?
