Two RubberB’s...A Comparison

I just received a RubberB strap for my Black Bay today and as much as I love the one on my Explorer, this one is even better looking. Here’s a photo and then I’ll explain the difference. By the way, what might appear to be a gap on the six o’clock side really is not. It’s just a shadow from the photo. The fit is perfect on both sides.
Now for the comparison which will be short and sweet. The second photo is the Explorer and the third is the Black Bay. Enlarge each photo and you will notice the difference.
The Explorer RubberB has a matte finish with a bit of a glossy look while the Black Bay RubberB has a metallic look to it, much like the paint on your car which I feel is an improvement. Honestly, I think it looks terrific. The fit and comfort factor on both are equal.
There’s been much debate on various threads comparing Everest straps to RubberB. Having never owned an Everest I can’t compare the two. I’m sure that quality wise they are probably equal. What swayed me to RubberB initially was simple aesthetics. I liked its tapered looks better. With my purchase of the RubberB for the Black Bay, that feeling has only been reinforced.
For anyone straddling the fence about the purchase of this strap, I hope this comparison helps.

Thanks for this! Been thinking about getting a rubberB for my eta BBN for awhile now. Any chance you could take a few more shots, possibly from further away?

Looks great Angelo!! Have been thinking about rubber for my BB’s. Do they have a blue one or a red one? Thinking it would look great on the GMT.

Thanks Brandon.
The straps are all black with colored stripes on the sides. They do come in blue and red.
Check them out here:

Correct and I apologize for neglecting to mention that. I bought an 18mm buckle on eBay.

What’s the longevity on a rubber b? I have a BBN on leather and I know the strap and nato’s days are numbered. Would it ideally last a decade or is that a pipe dream?

I can’t really say. I’ve had one on my Explorer for a few years and it shows virtually no sign of wear yet.

Thanks, yeah I could see it lasting a long time. I may just bite the bullet tomorrow and grab one in the diamond district. One of the shops is a rubber b retailer. I think I’m going to go for the cream accent as opposed to all black.

I almost went for that one too but decided that it wouldn’t hold up as well as the single piece all black version. The color straps apparently are two pieces of rubber fused together.

I’ve got one on my BBN ETA and I love it too.

If you have the Tudor leather strap for your BB then its deployant buckle fits perfectly on the RubberB. I’m wearing my GMT today otherwise I’d post a photo. It works really well with the Tudor deployant. I will try to remember to take a pic later.

Oh..I wish I had known this before getting the Everest strap. Don't get me wrong, the Everest strap is real hi quality stuff.. everything seems good about it. Except the curved look, I would have preferred the tapered look as well.

This is what it looks like on my bb

Looks great! Do they make the same one in a deep blue to match my BB blue by any chance?

All of the BB straps are black but you can get them with colored stripes on the side.

I found a rubber version for my GMT on ebay for $40 and it is as good of quality as rubber B and the everest straps.

Just curious if you have owned a RubberB or Everest to make the comparison.

Thanks guys.
I was contemplating getting the OEM Deployant Clasp which I’m sure would look even better but the strap was expensive enough. I haven’t given up on the idea, just not right now.
