Keep the Seadweller 116600, or get the Royal Oak 15400?

I was fortunate enough to get a late 2016 Seadweller 116600 and I rarely wore it until late last year. While I really like it to be the last modestly sized, no-cyclops Seadweller, I found it a bit too sporty at times.

Last month I went to a Audemars Piguet boutique and spent some quality time with a sales person there (in Taipei 101). Not sure if it's due to the exceptional service the sales person gave me or the real charm of the Royal Oak, I am thinking if I should "upgrade" to a Royal Oak 15400 in black or blue dial.

Any opinion?

The AP is gorgeous...but I'd keep my SD. Good luck!

I wear my Dweller more than my RO. The RO is a stunning watch, but for sone reason I've not quite clicked with it.

To me they are very different.. so ideally get both.. but if only one, I might have to side with the SD.. !

Agree that the people at Taipei 101 boutique are very nice. I guess being a factory boutique helps. (I assume less financial pressure to make the sale)

save and buy a gold 15400, and make it your PM piece. I regret going two-tone only.

Thanks guys. I'm a bit surprised it's 5:0 so far, SD vs RO. What's the 1 factor you consider to side with the SD?

My reply from your other thread.

I own both and can say the Royal Oak is amazing and by far the best watch I’ve owned!

Will say though the 116600 is a more versatile watch and if I had to go to a one watch collection it would most likely be the one I’d keep.

But in saying that if you don’t wear the 116600 it’s pointless keeping it! And trust me you will wear the Royal Oak

I’d do it. The 15400 is another gear!

Own both previously and if I had to choose again, it’s SD. It’s more versatile.

It's a Rolex forum.

My choice between those two watches is the AP, but that's because I'm not much of an SD fan. If it were any number of other Rolexes, I would choose differently, although I do like that RO.

People would laugh at you if this question was asked 2 years ago when the sd4k was in production and offered at heavy discount.

It really depends on if you are purely a consumer or a collector. When both were readily available there was no contest at all.

Biased...but the AP is just on a whole other level. Great to have both as they are very different and personally think they serve different purposes but yeah...I’d go with this

I’m not an AP fan at all. Nope, not one bit. The SD43 is much more my style and it’s a favorite of mine. I wouldn’t give up the Sea Dweller for an AP - any AP.

I’d save and add. The 116600 and 15400 can be a killer duo

Not a lover of the AP bracelet. Looks like a Challenger 2 tank track. I’d keep the SD.
