Does every AD get the Basel watches to show customers?
Hi All
As we know, some AD are starting to get the BASEL models to show their potential customers. Are those watches ROLEX owned demo that need to be returned or they are for the AD to keep and are eventually for sale to public? Also, does every AD get those "demo" watches or only the boutique and larger ADs? |

As far as I know the Basel watches 'tour' the AD's.
The watches themselves have dummy movements or are locked some how so don't actually work. You will notice in any pictures people post of them they are set at 'Rolex' time 10:10:32 & date on 28. Not sure if every AD gets them automatically or has to book them, all I know is my AD's preview evening isn't until October..️ Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

My AD has eight stores over three states, but they never hold a Basel preview. Really disappointed as I was hoping to try on a new SS Pepsi.

One of our Portland AD's has the evening in June. Was in yesterday killing time and admiring. Saw lots of TTs and a couple Milgauss, an Air-King but no Subs or Explorers.

My local Mall store AD seems to not get anything from their corporate office with promos like this. Guess this location is a bastard child of the overall chain store bureaucracy??? Ah well, am still holding out hope they can finally come through with a SS Pepsi after two complete misses from them previously.

Not all AD's get the demo models but most of the big ones do and in major cities.

Not all ADs get them. Mainly larger and chain ADs. Non functioning models and they are passed on to the next AD after their event.

I live in Europe and invited for end of May.
Last year they had real working pieces of SD43 and were all in stickers/seals (ready for sale) after the vipnights. |

I do not believe it's all ADs, I'd guess only higher volume stores and boutiques.

I was invited to a "Rolex Party" (last night)with my preferred AD, which is no where close to me geographically so I was unable to attend. I asked my rep to shoot me a couple of pics of the BLRO and he responded saying they won't have the samples, not that kind of party. So, for sure not all ADs get the demos.

It's just a part of the process to build the relationships required with the dealer and to get your shot at the hot SS models when they become available. Just imagine how excited you will be when actually handling the real thing after getting "The Call" |

My regular AD is not, and I believe it has something to do with the cost of throwing the party. Makes sense since he can't get enough to meet demand anyway. However another AD that I have a relationship with invited me just a few miles away. Late June for me.

I attended the Rolex Event at my AD last night. It was a great event!!!! Lot's of fun looking at all the new Rolex models as well as the new Tudor stuff. It's been said correctly, none of the watches had movements in them. The hands were all set at 10 and 2.
Guess which watch got the most attention? Yep, the Pepsi on the jubilee. My thoughts on it? Kind of small and nothing special. Everyone else sure thought differently thought. |

I think the event expenses are paid by the local participating AD. Not that all AD’s have the opportunity, but believe those that do have the option to have the event or not. I’m sure the boutiques don’t have a choice to opt out. Someone correct me if I’m wrong please.

If your AD doesn't get any, it means they have been naughty flippers so give them a damn good spanking next time you go in, from all of us.

Looking forward to pictures and your impression/review of the new Pepsi. I'm really interested in it and would love an opportunity to hold/wear one.
