Major AD Discount
I have been reading the forum for several months now but this is my first time posting a question/comment.
I was just offered a brand new Yachtmaster two-tone grey (slate) face Rolex by an out-of-state AD for $7,315. Regular price is $10,300. They will also ship it to me for a small fee to avoid tax. It is a D serial number. They say they purchased it in 2006 and it has sat in their store since that time. It is new, in box with all papers and comes with Rolex's two year warranty. How good of a deal is this, or, based on the economy, does anyone think waiting until next year would produce a better deal on a new or grey-market watch? Thank you. |

Sounds like a deal to me. If you check the price history, the retail price in 06 was around $7,800. So the AD purchased it for less than that. They will probably still make a decent amount on that piece.

$7,757.00 from Swiss Luxury - respected gray dealer. So your deal is good considering it is an AD. And that is a great watch! Let us know what you do...

Cash is King right now....if it is brand new in box from an AD, they will make any deal they can. Go for it if that is what you want.

Sounds like a good deal, but would still recommend to inspect it in person before handing over money.

If you love this watch then get it. It's a good deal, not great considering it is an old watch. If retail was 7800 then... they are still making their 35% or so on the watch. I would go in with 7k cash, say this is what I got, take it or leave it, shipping and everything included.

If it makes you smile, then why not. Ifyou hold out till the New Year he may have sold it to someone else.
