Comparison

So how do these compare to Rolex? Price? Demand? Value? I see there’s one dealer for these in my area and supposedly only keep around 5 in stock. I plan to go by and check them out. Just bought a bluesy sub and ordered a hulk.

if You buy a Breitling , you better buy right otherwise you will take a severe beating if you decide to part with it

Indeed, the resale values on Breitling aren’t the best. And I’m saying this as a Breitling fan.

I wouldn't give up just yet, just make sure you do some research before you buy anything. Discounts are easy to get from ADs and there are plenty of good deals on preowned pieces.

I wouldn't give up just because of that. Do you really like a particular model? Do you intend to keep it long term?

Unless you're only interested if flipping, there are some fine Breitling watches out there.

Solid watches from a great company with some significant horological history.

The Navitimer is a watch icon, the new in house B series movements are very fine, the partnership with Tudor (Rolex) is evidence of this.

Values are depressed in the secondary market for two simple reasons. The watches are easily discounted and therefore cause the secondary market value to fall even further. Since people expect discounts this makes the cycle never ending.

If you want a sold high quality watch Breitling has a lot to offer. I have owned several, they always ran within COSC spec and never have given me any problems. My Superocean is one of my oldest watches and is my go to piece for the beach.

Multiple strap options along with the bracelet make this a very versatile watch. And after 10 years I could not replace this watch for even double my original cost.
