Is that a Green Rolex ‘Mariner?!?

Grabbing a beer at the airport while waiting for my flight. Fella comes up besides me and asks, “Is that a Green Rolex ‘Mariner ?!?”

Me: “Submariner? Yep this is it.”

Him: “That is AMAZING! Can I ask how much that costs?”

Me: “Thanks man, it is an awesome watch.”

Him: “Well how much?”

Me: “How much do you think it cost?”

Him: “Man I’d have to say $12k!”

Me: “Well if you can find one at a Rolex store they’re about $9k, but otherwise you’re spot on at $12k.”

Him: “Baby I found my next present, this guy has a Green Rolex ‘Mariner, it’s only $9 grand!”

Apparently he was on the phone with his significant other while we had this barside conversation.

I’ll have to say he has good taste and a good idea on what things cost. Can’t seem to get the naming down but 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.
