I dropped my hulk on tile floor two days ago due to my butter finger and put a dent in the lug(see pic).

I have been monitoring the accuracy for the past two days and it lost 5 seconds every day. It used to gain 1 second in 20 days when he was healthy.

I bought the watch new at the beginning of 2018 so only 5 months. Should I send the watch for service or regulation now? Or should I just let it be and wait until the regular service? Does anyone have similar experience? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Nicks, dings, scratches are par for the course but that one there would bother me, coupled with what appears to be some movement damage, I would bite the bullet and pay for service.

Don’t think LAWW does that

for a perfect watch lug size 5 series is the solution!

They may add metal via laser welding, then finish down to factory dimensions.

Yeah, best to send it in if it's now running slow. I have a Sub-C that was also running around -5sec/day.

Got it back 8 weeks ago from the Dallas RSC and it's only gained ~3 seconds since then. Amazing.

The ding would not bother me but the noticeable difference in accuracy would concern me so i'd send it in

I got the same feeling. -5 seconds have been very consistent though.

I am in Bay area and the closest RSC I believe is LA. Probably stop by AD for regulation first?

San Fran has an RSC on Post street, have them look at the timing for you.

I don't think that I would send it in for service and pay that kind of money for a few seconds. It would likely void the original warranty, which is for manufacturing defects. You, by admission, have incurred damage, although a service comes with a 2 year warranty.

It's not exactly an RSC but is an independent Rolex specialist. Giovanni and team are great, they've worked on several of my Rolex and always done excellent work. Usually they can do a quick look-see and give you some kind of estimate while you wait.

See how it goes... if the timing gets worse, send it in for a full service (not the best, but dropping a watch does that.)
