Midsize Rolex YM?

Hi everyone this is my first post on this great site. I am a new Rolex owner and I am looking for another.
I located a nice Rolex YM(Yachtmaster) 2-tone from a local pawn shop. I personally know the owner and he is a trustworthy guy. The YM is the midsize (unisex) model with blue face. The watch has a U serial number which is probably around 1998. I like the watch but I just can't decide on it. I just don't know about the smaller 36mm case. Is there any YM guys on this board that can chime in. I can get this watch at a excellent price.

36 mm is the same size as a datejust. If it is a comfy fit then go for it!!!!!! of course the 40mm is a stunning watch, but it all depends on what you like!!!!!

I have the TT YM w/ blue dial...and I love it. My wife wears the mid-size but she likes a bigger watch...she has the TT YM with the slate dial which is beautiful as well. I think the size is all in what you like.

I couldn't wear the smaller one just due to wrist size...i'm super-sized

Go for it if you like how it looks.....if you don't mind me asking....what's the asking price for the mid-size? My wife's was purchased about two months ago new from an AD for $6200.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!! I think the only way you can answer your question is to go to the shop and try the YM on for yourself. That way it can help you better decide if its the watch for you.

I would personally go for the men's size YM if anything, but if the price is KILLER on the 36mm, go for it.

I can get the midsize YM for 3K. It doesn't have the box though. Personally I think it's a great price.
thanks for the input.

Seems like a good price to me...go for it if you like the feel. Half of what I paid for a new one seems good to me as long as its in good shape.

Welcome to TRF!

Welcome to TRF. One of my first watches was a mid-size DJ which is even smaller than what you're proposing. It still looks great (in the case) although after wearing watches like the DSSD and the Milgauss etc for a while now every time I put on the midsize DJ it only gets 10 mins of wrist time because of me wishing it was bigger!!! Can't sell it though due to too many great memories .................

I plan on trying the YM on today. It might be worth the money. He aslo has a GMT with the black&red bezel. I think he wants around 4800 for that one. The GMT comes with the original box and papers. That's a plus.

I went to try on the YM. I decided not to buy it because it looked to small on my wrist. I do have a deal pending on a GMT II "Pepsi" on this forum though, yeah!

I think you made a great decision...the GMT is a an excellent choice. I would not be happy with a mid-size either but that's not to say my wife doesn't love hers.

Post pics once you close the deal.
