Like new, no dings or dents?
I'm new to Rolex watches and a little confused as to what sellers consider a ding or a dent.
Sellers are describing watches as having no dings or dents but in many cases both are plainly evident when viewing their photos. Am I missing something? Thank you. |

As beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so is one’s interpretation of excellent, like new, dings, etc.
As has been stated, buyer beware. |

No dings/dents should mean just that. A seller who can’t accurately describe their watch should be avoided at all costs.

Today there was an ad for subc with PCLs. Ad should still be there. Check it out.

Dents and dings are very different from scratches. Caveat Emptor!!!

And then there's "Mint"..
"Mint" or "near mint" is my 'favorite ' description. Then you look at the photos full of dents and scratches. I've seen some vintage subs I've been interested in, and then I see the mismatch in photos and description and wonder what else they are stretching the truth (lying) about. And that includes some 'trusted' sellers. Mint means virtually brand new in my book.

Examine the photos closely; ask for more if you really can't tell. Beware.

The problem is that anyone can angle a camera or use lighting to either diminish or entirely hide nicks and dents.
Please, I'm not trying to stir anything up, but after reading these descriptions and seeing the photos, I would be more than reluctant to send someone $ here based on what I have seen. Just my 2 cents |

If you don’t buy the seller, don’t buy the watch. There are really no referees in the for sale forum. The due diligence is on the buyer. Spend a little time here and you’ll get up to speed. Send me a direct message if you want some specific advice on buying.
