Looks real sharp, good find. All the other credentials in order (paperwork, full set, sellers story)?

Looks good to me. That was the first Rolex I got in 1991. I still wear it often. Classic watch.

Looks beautiful, The dial has a nice cream color, only thing is the plot on the bezel won’t match.

He means the little white pip on the bezel insert, the insert is a modern replacement, the pearl is bright white with a hint of green luminous.. But your dial has its original tritium markers which age to a cream colour. So they are not uniform.
No matter at all.. Lovely watch. |

It's a great looking watch. Replacement of hands and bezel are pretty common. My 16800 has the original dial, the Tritium now is usless and tan in color. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the "patina". Enjoy the watch for what it was intended, don't worry about what it will be worth down the road. Fads and fashion change quicker than the tides. My date wheel was changed by Rolex, free, after about 15 yrs because the paint on the dial was falling off.

Things like the hands (replaced Luminova and don’t quite match dial), bezel insert (replaced) and the date wheel (probably replaced) are all things that wear out over time and are intended to be replaced. I don’t notice any issues. Can’t quite see the clasp code. Looks like T4 or i4. T is 1995 and makes sense. All in all looks like a good clean watch. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I love 5 digit Subs, however....It appears that the hands and insert are luminova, but the dial is tritium. That would bother me. Pass unless the price is right.

Yes, but in this case I fail to see your point. All I am saying is I prefer a more uniform look.

That date wheel is a service replacement.
Rolex in Geneva did that to a 16800 of mine *despite* my telling them not to touch it. Mayhem ensued. I prevailed. |

I have tritium service hands on my 1680 that also appear to be luminova until the lights go out- then there is no doubt they are Tritium!
If the insert starts to bother you, I have nice, (not perfect) tritium pearl flat four inserts that would be correct for this watch. Otherwise, just enjoy it! Condition looks quite good! |
