Anyone want a BNIB 16710 Pepsi?

You might want to act fast on this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-GMT-1...8AAOSw8zdaz6Xg

I thought about it but decided to pass it on to someone here who may REALLY want one!!

That's just a ridiculous price. I could see $24k or so as a fair price but this guy is really pushing it. I've seen full sets in fantastic condition for under $20k. That sort of money can buy a nice example of a 6265 in good condition without being a speculative purchase. Even a 1675 is a better purchase.

They can ask for whatever they want. It doesn’t mean it will sell. I swear dome people do that on eBay just for the free exposure expecting a private message with real negotiations and a sale outside of eBay.

Do you see this clown's description? Here it is for anybody wondering:

"Just when you were thinking this was an insane price for this watch, stop and consider the following:

THIS IS THE EXTREMELY RARE GMT MASTER II WITH THE 3186 CALIBER MOVEMENT INSTEAD OF THE 3185 MOVEMENT NORMALY USED IN THIS MODEL. THE 3186 MOVEMENT IS IN THE GMT MASTER II MODEL 116710 WITH THE CERAMIC BEZEL.

IN 2008 RIGHT BEFORE THIS GMT MASTER II WAS DISCONTINUED, ROLEX HAD A LIMITED NUMBER OF WATCH CASES LEFT BUT HAD NO MORE 3185 MOVEMENTS AVAILABLE.

ROLEX SOON DISCOVERED THAT THE 3186 MOVEMENT DESIGNED FOR THE NEW CERAMIC BEZEL GMT II, ALSO FIT IN THE OLDER WATCH CASE. ROLEX QUIETLY INSTALLED THE NEW 3186 MOVEMENT IN THE OLDER CASE WITHOUT ADVERTISING IT TO THE PUBLIC AND HENCE THE GMT MASTER II TRANSITIONAL MODEL WAS BORN.

AS ROLEX DOES NOT PUBLISH PROCUCTION NUMBERS IT IS NOT KNOWN HOW MANY OF THESE WATCHES WERE PRODUCED BUT IT IS ESTIMATED BY EXPERTS THAT ONLY A FEW HUNDRED, IF THAT, WERE EVER RELEASED.

NOTE ALSO THAT THIS PARTICULAR GMT II IS ALSO DOUBLE RARE BECAUSE IT HAS THE EXTREMELY RARE " ERROR " OR STICK DIAL WITH THE ROMAN NUMERALS IN GMT II PRINTED AS STICKS ie: NO LEFT TO RIGHT BARS ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE VERTICAL BARS. See Photos.

THIS WATCH COMES WITH THE COMPLETE SET, ie: CORRECT INNER AND OUTER ROLEX BOX, ALL MANUALS, AND WARRANTY CARD. THE WATCH IS CURRENTLY STORED IN A ROLEX PLASTIC SHIPPING COFFIN AND HARDLY EVER TOUCHED OR HANDLED.

THIS RARE GMT II HAS GAINED A CULT FOLLOWING AND IS RAPIDLY BECOMING KNOWN AS THE NEXT " Paul Newman " FOR COLLECTABILITY. IT IS CERTAINLY THE RAREST OF THE MODERN SEMI VINTAGE DISCONTINUED ROLEX MODELS.

THERE ARE PERHAPS ONLY 150 TO 200 OF THESE RARE WATCHES IN EXISTANCE AND FAR FEWER BRAND NEW OLD STOCK ONES."

It all makes sense now! It's the 'double rare' next Paul Newman! WOW!

The only thing that could sweeten this deal, is if it was sans-bezel and owned by a painter!

Until an example of this particular variant fetches top dollar at auction in a couple of decades, it's all just speculation. The Pepsi is also not associated with one of the coolest actors of all time and it's not even a 1675.

Great find. Horrible pics for a guy with a 69K listing.

Yep! I've even seen people get creative with a regular ceramic Sub Date in these times! Only a very small percentage of people would pay a premium for a 3186 over a regular 16710 in the first place. They are essentially the same watch. These are just for keeping in the safe.

Always makes me wonder where these NOS models have been hiding for the last 10,15, or 20 odd years...???

What a shame such a beautiful watch will never get to be worn on a regular basis.

Same with flat 4 LV"s kept in pristine condition locked away in a bank vault - makes me so sad...

Hmmmmmm........speculative GMT with a 3186 or a Platinum Daytona with a diamond baguette dial........I can’t decide.

I wonder how many of the “views per hour” are actually TRF members checking out this joke of a listing!

Obviously he is not going to get this price. I suspect he knows it too. Maybe he also knows this price will bring him attention and maybe get views to his other listings...who knows though.

I read all your replies but as we know it only needs one buyer and that price may mean nothing to them.

haha well I guess considering the insurance to ship a $68k item, it's actually a pretty good deal. Still, I decided i'm not gonna buy it. I got spoiled with amazing prime. I need my shipping free and 2 day at least.

That idiot seller doesn't realize, that he's begging somebody to 'box is empty' scam him, asking such a ludicrous price. A scammer would take pleasure in taking advantage of somebody like this.
