How It's Made

I love this show but my question is this.......Rolls Royce actually allowed them to go on location and show the world how the Rolls comes off the assembly line. Does anyone here think that Rolex will ever do that or do we all have a better chance of winning the lottery all at the same time? Just figured this oughtta get some interesting feedback.

i saw a show about bentley and they showed everything in the factory. picking the hides for the interior, painting the body and everything. it was very interesting.

It would be tough showing a video of how a Rolex is made. I have heard it takes a year to make a Rolex. So there would be too much footage to cover.

a year? thats nothing in my business. here is building an airbus 380 in 2 minutes and 45 seconds. it's the largest passenger jet in the world and took much longer than a year to build. lol

I believe it was James Dowling (Mr. Rolex) who posted a photo journal of his tour of the Rolex factory on Timezone a few years back....I think that's about as close as most of us will ever get!

There was an issue of WatchTime which featured Rolex sometime this year I think, and the journalist was not allowed to take any pictures of the production process. There were only a couple of pix - of the outside of the building and of a robot arm that was used in the testing of completed movements. And does it really take a year to make a Rolex?
