Black Dial Dive Watch...
I'm looking to add back in a Black Dial Dive watch.. I had the NO Date Sub ref 114060...
Wondering what everyone thinks if you had to pick a Black Dial.. would you go with the NO Date: 114060 ... the Traditional Sub: 116610 ... OR maybe the old SD 4000 ref: 116600 or the new 126600 anniversary SD?? I'm thinking the best investment of them all is the old 116600 due to the short production run... any thoughts? help? advise? |

Investment potential should be your last criteria in my opinion. You've chosen four vastly different watches in terms of function, size, appearance and how they wear.
You'd be far better to weigh out the physical criteria first. Regardless of price speculation, I'd choose the 116600 SD or 114060 Sub. I prefer the former for design but ultimately sold it after three years of daily wear due to no longer bonding with it. Future price be damned. Watches are not an investment to me. |

The two wear quite different. The SD has always fit my wrist better than a Sub but others might say the opposite. It's difficult to say which one you will prefer. I sold a 114060 to get a 116600 and can't see going in reverse unless the Sub gets a redesigned case with narrower lugs and a new movement.

For me it was no question, I went from a 14060m to a 114060

Sorry to nitpick, but the “traditional” sub would be a no date.
On to the question though, what were the reasons you parted with yours originally? Do you prefer a date? |

I did find I was looking for the date a few times... but I had the chance to sell it and pick up the HULK and felt like I couldn't pass up that chance, thinking it would be easier down the road to get it back. As much as I love the Hulk, I find the NO Date seemed to "shine". It seemed to reflect more light off the bezel, not just the ceramic part but even the edges seemed to be mirror or polished. They are both stunning in their own way I guess.

It would be (and is) the SD43 for me.

At first I bought the 114060 because it was the cheapest option. That was a mistake I learned from and won’t make again, within 6 months I had traded it in for the SD43. This watch is everything and more I thought the Sub would be for me.

I'd pick the 114060.

Sd4k or maybe sd43
But I’m a big fan of the black bay and it’s such a lovely watch to look at, even on fabric/nato I’d buy it on black leather and swap to nato for the sea which is what I do regularly. The dial, markers, pearlescent lugs and case shape really work for me. |

Hard to beat the 114060, I'd personally go that route to avoid the inflated prices of both the SD43 and SD4K.

If you like the look of the no-date but want a date, the SD4K is the clear choice since it has a date but no cyclops.

I couldn't care less about the "investment potential" of any watch.
As far as recommending which watch to buy to WEAR, I would go Sea Dweller since it's less common and more "special" in a lot of ways than a Sub As for the SD4K vs the SD43, if you like both equally it really comes down to wrist size. <7" I suggest SD4k >7" go with SD43. If the size makes no difference to you the SD43 is the superior watch do to the new movement, red writing, and being an anniversary edition |

I’d say 114600 if you prefer the no date or the 116600 if you’re looking for a date.
