Best place to get case/bracelet polished in UK?
I'm wanting to get my Sub LV cleaned up and polished and since there's no requirement to open up the watch i'm not really wanting to send it off to the RSC and see it disappear for 3 months and cost £300, so is there anywhere in the UK that do a good job with this type of finishing?

Probably not, but after my first attempt with a polishing cloth i managed to dull the side of the case, that shiny bit so i'm not 100% confident of trying again with a 3k watch

Oh and if anyone is around the Bath area that does this type of work or i can get cape cod cloths from this area that would be a lot easier, as with the Xmas holidays i doubt they'd arrive for another week and a bit

I use Lakeland http://www.lakeland.co.uk/F/keyword/...d/product/1978
Shouldn't be a major problem using it, I know it is idiot proof, cos I have used it successfully just make sure you mask any matt parts of the case first. |

I'm also looking for a quick once over to remove any swirls and get a couple of light scratches out of the matt areas, i might have to find someone after all before i have a fully polished Suv LV that shines like the centre links on a Daytona

I know, i just want a quick clean and polish so that i can then sell it on, but everywhere i go i get pointed to RSC Bexley, which would cost a fortune and mean losing the watch for 3 months, the marks aren't that bad but you know what it's like selling a watch with the smallest of marks

My local Goldsmiths don't have any repair facilities, they have a big book and a place they send everything off too.

Seriously, if they are not that bad, Cape Cod or Silvo should do it. I am the most cack handed person I know, and if I am careful, and with a bit of patience, I can get most things with superficial marks looking half decent.

One final query, if i was to send it into RSC would they change the bezel insert as i now have a black one in instead of the LV green?

I think, from what I have heard, they insist on restoring it to its original form. If you still have the green you can change it back to green yourself before sending it in.
