AD suggest me to pay more to be priotized for SS BLRO

Recently, I placed my name on AD's wating list for new BLRO and there are 20 people above my name on the list. AD offered me that I could be more priotized, basically cutting the line, by paying extra $2k. Is it against Rolex policy? Should I pay premium for it? I haven't by any watch in this AD.

Boy, I would first tell that AD to take the suggested premium and stick it up where the sun don’t shine, then I would find another AD more worthy of your business.

It’s not normal here in the UK , but sure someone with chime in on your patch . If he had the watch in and ask me for 2k over rrp then I would but not for a nudge up

That's insane. I wouldn't expect an ad to try and pull that type of price gouging.

This practice happens in some ADs in the Middle East.

Sorry to say this, but for $2k I would bite his arm off and get it with my name on the papers ASAP if it was the watch I really wanted if the above is true.

I’m sure I’ve read on here before that in the Far East some AD’s charge over rrp.

An AD in Thailand offered to sell me an SD43 for about $5k over retail - or conversely buy a full gold companion watch if I wanted it at retail. I asked if they could write the non-bundled price on their business card for me. They declined.

Given the dishonest "sales pitch" by this AD, what is stopping him from requesting 4K from the next customer wanting to get on the top of the list -- dropping you down a peg? I'd avoid this dishonest Rolex AD. But it's your decision.

Did the AD sales rep want the $2K in cash in his pocket ?
Or extra $2K profit for the company ?

Very interesting concept.

If AD sales guy want $2K cash on the side to sell me Daytona C white (on the spot / no waitlist) ... I might bite.

If they had one in store and they asked for an extra 2k I would jump on that deal. If your being asked for 2k and there is no guarantee you are next then they are just hustling you because they will sell your soot to the next guy that gives them 3k extra...

If he can get it to you tomorrow, go for it. Pay the extra $2k, sell the watch for $18k, then go right back on the list.

Not unheard of. If you don’t have a large and I mean large purchase history many ADs will want to pair such purchases with another less demanded reference or charge a premium. No need for this sort of practice if you are a whale with a 500k purchase history but for little fish it happens if you want to skip the line.

2k is not egregious I would bite in todays market.

Prioritized in the list means what exactly? If NA is similar to EU and they’re doing two/storefront then it’s going to take most stores forever just to get through their VIP lists. To me it’s just the store making money when they can. I don’t believe any of them know how many pieces they’re getting or when.

ADs asking for a 2k premium is a violation of human rights and punishable in the international criminal court! How can the AD be so vain to ask!
Tsk tsk tsk! Only grey dealers have that licence ;)

Too much. Even in the grays you can get an Sd43 for minimal above msrp.

I was thinking the same. If you can be first for $2k and you want it now, and if it’s your only option for owning today?! Saddle up because it’s new watch time.

My brother just paid extra $200 for the SS sub date at the same AD to skip the line and he got his watch after 1 month of waiting. I guess AD knew when the watch arrive and he offered.

I never heard of paying premium at Rolex AD.
Its not right though. Maybe AD needs business, trying to compete with Gray Dealers or Rolex corporate is pulling their plug if not meeting Rolex requirements. End of the day, its not right...

:)

like in an envelope slipped under the table?

Its how you get seated at a popular restaurant with out a reservation and you don't have a reservation at the moment.
