The one watch you would wear forever (Hodinkee)

Both the Tudor GMT and OP39 made the list. They were limited to choosing current production models. What would be your choice under these conditions?

"One" watch forever, so hard to chose. But if forced to do so I'd first have to stop visiting TRF to see so many wonderful options, then I'd probably settle on a SD43.
I had my mind set on a BLRO ceramic, but the matte dial and proportions of the SD43 are very appealing, so I switched lists. There's something irresistible to me about a black shiny black Rolex dive watch.

The Sea-Dweller 50th anniversary for me.

A hard choice, I can see choosing the OP, and certainly a Rolex GMT II, but not a Tudor

if the Tudor GMT was built along the same dimensions as the BackBay 1958 I could see it but not under the current dimensions.

Polar explorer 16570.

Current production? Probably BB58

From the modern collection, I’d go GMT Master II in a heartbeat, specifically the BLNR. That watch is near perfect on all occasions for my needs...

I like the idea of still rocking my BLNR in 50 years... even if it is in a rocking chair

I was surprised no one chose the 5 digit sub in the article, but that's just me.

The Explorer I own, a killer DD 36 mm or a cool DJ41.

great article idea.

not sure I could choose.

I think my DJ41 would make the most sense.

but I would be torn up to get rid of my Explorer 2 or RG YM. I also think keeping my BLNR is likely the smartest choice as it is likely the most versatile watch overall. But damn, I do not even want to think about getting rid of my BLRO.

I would have to revert back to the DJ41. I guess...

FWIW these articles from Hodinkee are irresistible click-bait to me.

My choice would be a watch I do not own - the Explorer 214270.

SD43 for me. Still I'm gonna be super bummed to let go of my BLNR. But there's just something about that red font that keeps me drawn to it.

In the comments on Instagram James Stacey said it had to be current production otherwise his choice was his Polar Explorer II (16570).

116500 or Patek 5296G Opaline dial.

Think I would choose 5296G as the one watch for the rest of my life.

116710LN for me, though the white OP34 is a close second.
