Anyone else watching Succession on HBO

I can't stop watching this Succession. It has been a show about showcasing truley terrible in their natural habitat, action in truley terrible ways. But their watch game is solid.
The first episode showcased how little the Uber rich value possessions. The up and comer trying to get I to the family wants to get his future father in law something special for his birthday. His fiance tells him just make sure it looks like you spend $10 -$15 grand worth. The gift turns out to be a Patek Phillipe, which "is incredibly accurate at telling you how rich you are". Dad doesn't care and gifts it to a poor family his children embarrassed, as reparation.
Another terrible character (for whom I have particular disdain) is played by (not) Macaulay Culkin. He's the toolbag who feigns politeness with a , "please and thank you". I hate that guy! But he has been wearing a few different Rolex so far throughout the series. In fact, I am pretty sure he was wearing an Explorer II polar in Sunday's episode. I pointed it out to my wife and she said, you have to throw it out now...
Anyone else enjoying the exploits of the Roy family?

Haha. Yeah, I have been a witching it and noticed they definitely are making a point of showing watches. I bet someone in production is a major WIS.

Not Macaulay Caulkin though. His little brother. Also, I never noticed the polar on him. In other episodes it looked like he was wearing an ice blue dial Platinum. I don’t think it was though. They definitely don’t have many close up shots of the watches. Just keep them visible enough to tease us WIS.

I’m glad you posted this. I think I’m gonna binge watch the first few episodes no that there isn’t anything on right now. Fun to spot the “Easter egg” watches on all the different characters

The stammering pace of the dialog, which is intentional, is super annoying, especially with the heir apparent so, who I hate the most. It's an OK show, not great though

I found the description of the Patek Philippe amusing:

“Every time you look at it, it tells you exactly how rich you are”

I've been watching it, but have just about decided to quit. It's sort of like a train wreck- you just can't look away.

I'm trying to figure out which watch Kendall Roy is wearing. Is it a Breguet?

It's been a guilty pleasure show for my fiance and I. We've been staying up to date on it weekly and just watched the finale last night.

Not going to spoil anything for anyone.

It's by no means one of HBO's finest, but entertaining enough for the slow summer season of shows.

I think the relationship between Tom and Greg is by far my favorite/most entertaining part of the show. "Well I shouldn't be, Greg"

It’s a bit weirdly addictive. I don’t like it but I always want to watch the next episode. The characters are quite quirky/odd.

I've been watching and waiting for it to get better. Likely will stick with it for the season and then if it doesn't get better it will get cancelled anyway.

It's a painfully accurate portrayal of many real "rich kids" I've met. As these people age, they try to act like mature leaders, but everyone knows they didn't earn their positions. Hardship builds wisdom and character, but they've often never experienced any

Thought I’d bump this. Been under the weather last few weeks (viral labyrinthitus) and not been too mobile so I’ve rattled through this series.

Have to say quite enjoyed it as strange as it was. Season finale quite clever as it sets up a second series (if it gets commissioned)

Just saw the first two episodes, will continue with the series. I found it to be a pretty decent show but not by any means an HBO classic. Interesting seeing the deep character flaws they each have. Truly rotten in some cases. Hopefully there is a train wreck, they mostly deserve it.

I tried, but couldn’t finish the first episode. Perhaps I should give it a second chance.

I went for Sharp Objects instead... it's very visceral and cuts deep, and Amy Adams is incredibly good.

Watched the first season.

The life and times of a family of sociopaths, and it's hard to find anyone to cheer for. Makes you wish they all go down in flames.

Supposedly a thinly concealed story about Rupert Murdoch and his family and probably not too far from the truth.

Ultimately its a rich family of train wrecks whom the viewers are supposed to love watching imploding every week. But these kind of people control the world which sort of makes the joke on us.

The family is a train wreck and this show stutters forwards in the most awkward way. I love it!

Meh. Don’t find any of the characters terribly believable. Will be quickly forgotten I suspect. Billions knock off.
