Just wondering how seriously other people take the stated power reserve on their watches...

My new GMT seems to give about 46.5 hours while they advertise 48... and generally Ive found most watches actually last a bit longer than stated...

It doesnt bother me really but do others see this as an issue? Is it normal in Rolex?

It doesn't matter to me, l rotate whenever so l usually have to set them anyways.

That’s acceptable.

I personally use PR as a movement health indicator anyway.

I never check unless they stop working while I'm wearing them, I'm good.

I check and monitor all my watches every years as a health check. You PR is within what most are getting. You see less than 42 hours and you need a service.

Thanks, yeah I figured the same as most are saying - doesnt matter but if it gets significantly different, its probably time to check it out.

It's not a problem for me.

I have a vintage watch that even though it is an automatic will stop if I'm not active enough, but all the rest have a more than sufficient power reserve.

I've never actually timed any of them to get specifics.

It's a wound mechanical spring.. Pretty unlikely that any two would be identical and 48 hrs would always be an approximation, not an absolute.

Exactly.

I only once checked my PR, just a few weeks ago in a little over 2 years: my watch ran for 47h and 4o'

The official Rolex specifications state 'Aproximately 48 hours' of power reserve.
The OP did not mention that in the post.
Ultimately, the power reserve doesn't really matter if you are wearing the watch, and if you don't wear it, does 1 hour and a half make any difference?
