Panerai Pam 1499?

Hello all,

I’ve been bitten by the Panerai bug, specifically the 1499. I have not been able to locate any on the secondary market and am wondering is that because the white dial Panerai are not popular or because those that own them, keep them. For those of you that own one, would be interested in your thoughts.

I would say, both. I love mine and it was my first PAM. Couldn’t see myself selling and I knew it was not the popular choice, especially for a first one.

Not normally a first choice but if you love the piece then knock yourself out and be happy.

What I would say though is try and get a new piece but shop around and get the best deal you can. I would hope for about 20% discount if you're in the right place at the right time. Good luck

Really difficult in Montreal, you have to add 15% sales tax, typically a discount will cover the taxes in my experience with the AD. Thank you for the advice though, will have a better idea in negotiating!!

That’s what I wanted to hear, the no regret part. Enjoy!!

Give Panerai in Yorkdale in Toronto a call, maybe they will find you one.

I prefer the secondary market for Panerai for obvious reasons. Going new, I could buy locally. Regardless thank you for the info. I usually bug JJ at the IWC boutique in Yorkdale. Cheers.

Nothing beats buying what you want, so, I wouldn’t worry about what’s supposedly “popular”. Good luck with the hunt!

I agree with you, it’s just that finding this watch on the secondary market has not been easy, hence the question of possible reasons such as popularity, etc.

DavidSW could probably track one down for you at a good price.

1499 was my first Pam also.. not the typical first choice as many have mentioned but it’s great with different color straps

Sounds like it may be quite a popular first choice. It was also my first Pam and I enjoy it, especially all the strap changing. Jay

1499 is my first and only PAM so far. I’ve absolutely loved it!
