Explorer 2 white or black

Can't seem to make up my mind on a white or black dial Explorer 2 216570. Any thoughts?

Black Dial. However if you have other black dials and you do not have a white dial watch, then I would go for the white dial.

Black Dial. It just looks more classy to my eye.

Black dial. The black hands on the white dial do serve a purpose but just don't look noble.

I always go with black dials. More versatile.

But with the exp ii, go polar my friend. It looks fantastic.

Plus, the hands are one colour. On the black dial, the hands are painted black near the center of the dial. No big deal, but annoys the hell out of me .

White dial. Both versions look good, but I find contrast between hands and dial worse on the black version. Polar Explorer II does have a unique modern look and is easy to read. I like this combination of white dial, white handles an indices with their black border and orange GMT hand. Makes this watch dial look very 3D.

However, Polar Explorer II doesn't look very Rolex. When I see it, I think Swatch. That's a good and a bad thing. Explorer II has been on my mental list of Rolex to consider since it came out.

I wasn't sure at first but the Polar won. One nice surprise was that the cyclops and date is not in your face, it blends in with the white dial.

Polar. There’s plenty of other black dials but very few good looking white dials

I noticed the same. Was never a lover of the cyclops, but it is not intrusive on the Polar dial.

I think I made a mistake going for the white. But then I just look at it and think, nah, it’s perfect.

Polar adds variety to a black dial collection. That’s my choice. Look forward to learning what you select!

Having had an Explorer II, black dial, I can only suggest a black dial. Richer looking.

White all day every day. There are no white dial sports Rolex models besides the Daytona. Makes the explorer unique compared to other models which wear the black dial much better IMO.
