Icon5 Rolex CHRN as an everyday watch

Hello everyone,

I am struggling with my decision to sell my BLRN to purchase the CHRN that I tried on yesterday. It is not possible for me to keep both at this time and I got the call a few days ago from the AD to look at the CHRN.

I really liked the CHRN but today I am still not sure I like it better than the BLRN, even though it has a better movement and updates. As I am getting older, the two-tone Everose looks amazing. However, I don't like the Yellow Two-Tone but the Everose on this watch really works and it looks much better in person than in any pictures I have seen.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the CHRN and also if you think it could be an everyday watch? I am a middle-aged Finance Professor and I generally wear a sports coat and polo shirt with slacks to lecture.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and insight and thanks in advance.

If you're a one watch person. Stick with BLNR, you can take it anywhere.

If you have another sports steel watch, get the CHRN. You seem to lile it very much.

Me ? I would keep the BLNR either way. Just because I'm not a fan of precious metals.

Cheers professor.

Been wearing my CHNR (not CHRN) everyday without issue.

Do you wear the watch or does the watch wear you? Answer that and you'll know which path to take.

I wore a TT Sub LN as an everyday watch. The CHNR is more subtle with the everose.

It could absolutely be an everyday watch. No idea why it would be considered less usable than a BLNR.

If you really like it, go for it.

Either is fine everyday. But if it were an only watch to go everywhere then I prefer the BLNR.

No hesitation here.

The only reason I’m not wearing mine every day is that my AD hasn’t called to tell it’s come in.

I’ve been wearing my new TT CHNR with shorts/t shirts, and button down /slacks. Feels very versatile. It does get a little more attention than SS. My mother in law asked me about it today despite never noticing any piece I’ve worn prior. The extended power reserve is noticeable compared to my LVc, especially on weekends. If it sings to you, it’s absolutely fine as a daily wear.

I really like the look of the new two tone CHNR, and have always thought the two tone DJ41 was very nice. But knowing myself I think I would grow tired of the two tone look pretty quickly if I didn't have another watch in rotation.

100% CHNR! Especially in your demographic and what you wear on a daily basis. I’m blessed to have acquired the full Everose version and I wear it everyday no matter what I’m wearing. Just walked to the barber in gym clothes and it’s no issue. Someone above put it best “do you wear the watch, or does the watch wear you?”

It’s an amazing piece and believe it or not the rose colored gold is extremely easy to overlook. Good luck with the decision

I loved the CHNR at first sight but had the same trepidation since I have worn a SS sub as my go to watch for 10 years. I decided to buy the CHNR as a role player and keep my Sub as the daily wearer and that changed quick. The CHNR now rarely leaves my wrist and has assumed the daily role. I think it is very versatile. It does attract more attention naturally but without being ostentatious. I was self conscious about wearing gold for a few days since it was new to me and now I don’t think twice about it. I have friends that would give me crap in a heartbeat if they thought I was being overtly flashy and they haven’t said a word other than nice watch. Follow your gut and wear what you like. Hope this helps.

The TT DJ is the most worn Rolex today so the CHNR is no problem as a daily.

Why not every day. Enjoy it instead of locking it up. If your not gonna wear it, feel free to let me borrow it.

I havent seen the TT, I've tried the full RG model though and I thought it was stunning

Having said that, for me TT is a little too flashy for daily wear...

I find myself reaching for it every day over my other watches and love it. Pretty much goes with everything I wear. Go for it.

I like the new two-tone CHNR but I would keep the BLNR as a one and only watch.

It's definitely a personal thing, but the CHNR would make a great daily driver IMO

I would not sell my BLNR but I love the look of the CHNR and would gladly wear either piece daily

You can wear it everyday, no problem. All Rolex watches can be daily wear pieces, do you wear the watch or does the watch wear you. If you are comfortable with it, do it. It's a beautiful piece and I think it's more elegant than the BLNR.

As an owner of the BLNR (have it on my wrist now) and admirer of the CHNR, in my almost-mid 40s, i could not make that move bc except for this watch I am not a TT fan, and I think the BLNR is a near perfect go-everywhere do-everything watch that is dead-accurate (so other then the PR which is irrelevant if you are wearing the watch every day, the new movement to me makes little difference). However , I strongly believe that both watches are equal in daily wear readiness and it’s really a personal preference on color scheme. I could def see myself adding the CHNR to my collection, just not trading the BLNR for it. Good luck w your decision.

I own the BLNR. I would say it is more versatile. That said, ANY Rolex can be worn as an everyday piece. If you truly love the CHNR more, then absolutely make the switch.

Well, speaking as one with quite a bit of flipping experience (), then do NOT make this move until you are sure.

Better movement/updates? Law of diminishing returns, my friend. Forget about that and make sure...or you will regret it. Good luck!
