Hello and welcome back to my semi-coherent, fairly intoxicated ramblings about day trips and watches TRF! While I won't be posting a lot of pictures from my journey (patience is thin when it comes to photo uploads, so I just got the meat and the potatoes today), I will share other's!

I woke up today promptly at nine o'clock (cool! I got to sleep in!), I said

it, and went back to sleep. At ten o'clock I got up for the day, and ran around town a bit. Dropped off the dry cleaning, ran to the bank, etc. etc, then I stopped by the local nail salon. Typically, I will get one manicure per month (no, I use no polish

) just to get a go in the outstanding massage chairs the establishment has, and to take care of my extremely rough hands.

After arriving and finishing up a phone call I thought "Hmmm .... I've never had a pedicure before, let's give that a shot." No pics here, I do not wish to revisit my dinner

After an hour's go in the chair, what feels like a total feet rejuvenation session, and my hands taken care of (plus what amounted to a full body massage less my chest), I believe I will make the pedicure part of the monthly routine. All was had for $30. Very well worth it! (Whoohoo small towns as well!)

Aaaand it basically stayed like that for about thirty more minutes. The orchard is in the next town over.

This particular establishment is a pretty special place for me, as my grandfather first introduced it to me when I was about twelve or thirteen. The place soon became a reward for conquering the obstacles of the typical teenager. We would spend hours eating baked goods and ice cream, then we were able to work off the calories by going to the orchard itself and picking peaches, and other assorted in-season fruits .... which somehow ended up in granny's kitchen inside pies, cakes, breakfasts, and anything else you can imagine.

Starting off, I was very hungry, so I got a chopped brisket sandwich and a scoop of Fritos, then polished it off with a cup of their peach sweet tea, with a touch of lemonade mixed in.

While their bakery, canned (or ....jarred?) goods, and fudges and candies are unbelievably good, their fresh peaches and soft serve is to kill for. I am fairly certain that if I got to the front of the line, and they were out soft serve for the rest of the year, the first person I see with a cup or cone of it would suddenly have a thicker wallet. Their peaches and peach products are absolutely exceptional.

In a slightly dazed confusion, otherwise known as a food coma, I somehow made my way back to my ute and made the drive back to town. I stopped off at Dad's office to drop off some goodies, and made my way to the gym. Of course, due to the goodies I ate (and then some) I needed to burn as much energy as I could. What's that mean? Leg day. My favorite day.

No, TRF doesn't get to see me in my shorts, nor me drenched in sweat during a three hour session at the gym, I will throw in another Tudor shot during one of my smoke breaks:

Alas, I went back to the house and spent some time with mom, ran a few errands for her and filled up her truck with fuel, and moseyed on back to where I sit now, rather ..... no ..... well ...... very drunk. Naturally, this being a "KarlTheToyotaGuy" thread, here is the traditional pic of the ute:

They are absolutely delectable!

I do too

When my family moved here a little more than 10 years ago, we were a town of 5,000 people. Now we're almost at 80,000, and prices are still steadily shooting upwards.

Nice, looks like a great place. I live in a rural area with old school fruit stands like this. Always nice to get fresh fruit and produce. Homemade ice cream is a real weakness for me. That ice cream looks awesome!

It's great!

Awesome! Mine's about two years old, and has held up well! On the high point's peaks the coloring has worn off, and some of the rubber-ish trim has worn along the fold on the top and the bottom.

After two years of abuse, I am satisfied.

The ice cream is to kill for. They have peach and strawberry, and the mix of both! I have no issues driving 2+ hours for it alone.

I truly wish I could ship it out to any TRF’ers that desired it .... but knowing myself, it would get to the truck, and I would rush it back to the freezer .... then into my belly

Looks like a nice little adventure. It would take me about 3.5 hours to get to that orchard. Maybe I will make the trip there one day based on your write up!

Better do it soon!! They're only open seasonally. Their last day of business for the year is August 11th!!
